"We especially need imagination in science. It is not all mathematics, nor all logic, but it is some All this helps students to make an effort to speak English.

SciencEnglish was created with the purpose of offering quality extracurricular activities in English. In addition, we want to offer a new point of view regarding the study of science as well as support the teachers’ didactic effort. The main intent is to explain the surrounding environment to the students not just with words or images but with the help of different objects they can touch therefore arousing their curiosity and interest in exploring further. The different topics, always within the syllabus, reinforce the classroom lessons and provide some new interesting information that encourages the students to answer the questions made by the speaker as well as to formulate questions themselves. Our first experiences were in 2010 with the students from CEIP Virgen de Guadalupe (Murcia). Although at first they were just talks, the experience was so rewarding and the response so positive by both students and teachers that we decide to add new tools such as worksheets or objects such as seashells, animal teeth or different kinds of bones. These elements have proved to help the understanding of questions as why a habitat exists or the animal behaviour. All this practical experience allowed us to write an interesting programme that grows slowly to suit the needs of modern education.
