OrganKits Workshop on Health and Well-Being at the Science Museum of Murcia

This week, we had the pleasure of delivering a hands-on OrganKits workshop on Health and Well-being at the Museo de la Ciencia y el Agua in Murcia, Spain.💧

The session brought together two groups of young adults aged 20–26 (n=40), many of whom have faced educational and social challenges. Through the use of real plastinated organs, an interactive presentation (https://lnkd.in/drmCXeuz) and additional tools like pulse oximeter and stethoscopes, participants explored key topics involved in health and well-being.🫁

The combination of tangible anatomical learning -handling plastinated specimens-, inclusive language, and respectful dialogue made this workshop a powerful tool for science education beyond the classroom. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive — many had never interacted with real anatomical material before and described the experience as eye-opening and inspiring.

This experience confirms that OrganKits can successfully engage diverse audiences in non-formal learning spaces like museums, and we’re excited to explore more collaborations that connect health education with inclusion and social impact.

Special thanks to all the museum team, Discover-IN (www.discover-in.com) technical staff and the participants and educators for making this such a meaningful day!

OrganKits in “Conexión Europa” 📟

The innovative European project OrganKits, which integrates plastinated anatomical specimens into secondary school STEAM education, was recently highlighted on the radio program “Conexión Europa” aired by Onda Regional de Murcia.
In the episode broadcast on May 29, 2025, project coordinators discussed the objectives, development, and educational impact of OrganKits. They explained how the initiative fosters active learning and interdisciplinary thinking by offering real anatomical materials in didactic kits designed for classroom use.
The interview also reflected on the recent opening of an exhibition of the project at the Science and Water Museum in Murcia, which will be open to all visitor til the end of September. Educators and stakeholders from across Europe will be able to see firsthand the potential of OrganKits to transform anatomy education through hands-on, scientifically rigorous materials.
