Programa del día de la Almudena en Madrid 2024: procesión, conciertos gratis y degustaciones Este sábado, 9 de noviembre, es día festivo en la ciudad de Madrid, que celebra a su patrona, la Virgen de la Almudena.

This weekend, many British people across Spain will be wearing a red poppy – the symbol of remembrance. The poppy was the only flower to grow in the fields of Flanders amidst the death and destruction of the First World War and since then, it is worn to show respect and support for all those who died defending our freedom.

With thanks to the Royal British Legion in Spain, thousands of poppies are sold here every year. The majority of the money raised in Spain stays in Spain to support the many British veterans and their families who live here.
