You can spend years learning Spanish.

Or you can learn how to build a life in Spanish.

✨Habla MAMA is now open ✨

This isn't just a Spanish programme.

It's a 6-month journey for international mothers who want to feel more connected, independent and themselves in Spain.

Inside Habla MAMA we work on the 3 pieces:

🗣️ Language
🌍 Culture
🧠 Mindset

Because understanding Spanish isn't the same as feeling like yourself when you speak it.

✨ And if you join before Sunday, you'll also receive access to The Summer Camp (July & August).

A flexible WhatsApp support space designed to help you stay connected to Spanish over the summer and arrive in September ready to make the most of the programme.

☀️ The Summer Camp: July & August
🍂 Habla MAMA: September – March

You love your life in Spain. But somewhere between the school pick-ups, the doctor's appointments and the parents' WhatsApp groups… you still feel like the outsider.

It doesn't have to stay that way.

Don't worry! I've prepared a Free workshop where you'll learn:

👉 How to follow real conversations at pick-up, at the doctor's, with teachers — without translating everything in your head

👉 How to lose the fear of speaking and show up as the smart, fun woman you actually are

👉 How to improve your Spanish even when you're exhausted and your plate is already full

Most international mums have done a course. They know words. They can conjugate.

But the second someone talks to them at school pick-up… mind blank.

Swipe to see the 3 real reasons this keeps happening 👉

Because it's not your Spanish that's the problem — it's what nobody ever taught you about using it in real life.

Until now! ☝️

If you learned that "ya" means "already".

But then you moved to Spain and you hear it everywhere.

Because Spanish people use "ya" for absolutely everything and almost none of it means "already."

Here some examples:

"Ya vale" → that's enough / I'm done / PLEASE STOP 😭

"Ya está" → that's it / no more /

"Ya…" (mid-conversation) → I see / I get it / go on

"Ya ya ya" (to a crying child) → it's okay

Did you know all these uses? And do you know any others? Drop them below 👇

POV: you're trying to make plans in Spain and someone says "vamos hablando" 😭

You open Google Translate. It says "we keep talking."

….mmhh What? 😳

What actually “vamos hablando” means:

👉Maybe

 👉Let me think

👉I'm not committing to anything

👉 This could easily become a no 😂

It's part of a very Spanish social habit. Keeping things open-ended to avoid sounding too direct or too definite.

Nobody wants to say a hard no. So instead you get "vamos hablando", "ya te digo algo", "vamos viendo" — which all basically mean the same thing: watch this space.

Once you understand that, a lot of social interactions in Spain suddenly make a lot more sense.

What's the Spanish phrase or cultural moment that confused you the most when you first moved here? 👇

She left the appointment in tears. And I completely understood why. 😭

In Spain, especially with older doctors or midwives, the communication style can feel genuinely shocking if you come from the UK or the US. Less filtering. Less softening. More directness than you're used to.

And yes — sometimes that's cultural. But that doesn't make it any less hard when you're hormonal, exhausted and just trying to get through an appointment.

Has this ever happened to you? Drop a 🙋‍♀️ below.

Raising kids in Spain and still figuring out how things work here? My newsletter is full of exactly this kind of thing — culture, language and what nobody tells you when you move here.

Have you ever heard the expression "dar guerra"?

Literally — to give war 😂

In Spanish we say "mi hijo da guerra" when your kid is being hard work, a bit intense, or honestly just a handful.

If you're raising kids in Spain, this is exactly the kind of expression no one teaches you — but everyone around you is using.

Save this for the next time you're at the park and another mum says it about her kid. Now you'll know she's not declaring anything 😄

Things only mum expats in Spain will understand… 😅

👉Saying “sí sí” with no idea what you just agreed to

👉Surviving the school WhatsApp group

👉Mentally preparing for a simple phone call

👉Laughing… but 5 seconds too late

And still… building a life here 😊
