The Xavier de Salas Foundation was established in 1981 by Xavier de Salas and his wife Carmen Ortueta, with the aim of contributing to the cultural and social development of the Spanish Extremadura province and Latin America.

Over thirty years later, the Foundation continues to work in the fields of historical and artistic heritage conservation, entrepreneurship, developmental cooperation, environmental and landscape conservation, anthropological and musical research, and education – particularly through immersion courses in Spanish and Ibero-American culture for international students.

Courses are given in the stunning Convento de La Coria in Trujillo, Spain, close to the beautiful landscapes of Extremadura. The foundation is proud of having succeeded in creating a unique, creative, inter-generational and multi-disciplinary space in which educational, cultural and research activities generate value at local, regional, national and international levels.
