EACWP Josef Škvorecký Literary Academy (Prague) has therefore decided to initiate the launching of the European Network of Creative Writing Programmes (ENCWP).

The highly successful International Congress of Creative Writing Programmes, organized by the German Literary Institute Leipzig in March 2005, showed both the need and the desire for international cooperation in this area to be established in continental Europe. Since October 2005, five Symposiums have taken place in Prague.

Let us introduce our amazing teachers for the Teachers Training Course on Historical Writing & Talking Archives starting on march 24th! You still have time to sigh up 👏

Steffie van den Oord (1970) is a writer of 11 (and a half) books. She has published historical novels, short stories and non-fiction, including the bestseller Eeuwelingen (Centenarians). She studied history and literature in Nijmegen and Rome, and used to be a radioreporter and a teacher at ArtEZ. Her non-fiction books are based on ‘oral history’; she loves interviewing old people with good stories 🙌🏻

Laura Martínez-Belli (Barcelona, 1975) is a Spanish novelist and creative writing lecturer whose work has been widely acclaimed across Europe and Latin America. Known for her historical fiction and for restoring the voices of women overlooked by
official histories, she has published several novels translated into English, Polish, Italian, and Serbian. Since 2012, Martínez-Belli has taught creative writing both online and in person, developing extensive expertise in the teaching of historical fiction, narrative structure, and research-based storytelling. She has taught at universities and at Escuela de Escritores in Madrid, working from a transatlantic cultural perspective shaped by her life between Spain, Panama City, and Mexico.

Marianne Jaeglé holds the French agrégation in modern literature and has been leading novel-writing workshops in Paris since 2002. As an author, she has received the Orange Book Prize, as well as two additional literary awards for her most recent novel, L’Ami du Prince (Gallimard, 2024). Her novel Vincent qu’on assassine (Gallimard, 2016) has been translated into Italian, Romanian, Czech, and Japanese. She has also published several works including Écrire, de la page blanche à la publication (Scrinéo), a book on writing ✍🏻
