Climate ambition, competitiveness and security are increasingly connected.

The Climate Transition and Competitiveness: Ambition, Advantages and Trade-Offs dialogue, organized by Alinnea and the IE Competitiveness Hub Brussels at IE University, brought together leaders from across sectors to explore how Europe can advance the climate transition while strengthening resilience and long-term competitiveness.

The discussion highlighted the importance of aligning energy strategy, investment and innovation to navigate an increasingly complex global landscape. 🌍

From the classroom to the global stage.

A few days ago, five students from IE School of Politics, Economics & Global Affairs traveled to Geneva to take part in an initiative organized by GWL Voices.

Accompanied by Susana Malcorra, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Founder and President of GWL Voices, and Senior Advisor at IE University, they joined young leaders from around the world to co-create a Youth Decalogue and engage directly with candidates for the next UN Secretary-General.

At South Summit 2026, Enrico Letta, our Dean, joined Lucien Burm, president of the Dutch Startup Association, and Miguel Ángel Alcalá, Head of BBVA Spark Europe, to explore how Europe can create the right conditions for startups to scale, attract investment and compete globally.

The discussion focused on the challenges founders face across Europe, from fragmented regulations to access to capital, and the opportunities that come from building a more connected and competitive ecosystem.
