Good consulting isn’t about having the right answer from day one.

The Social Impact Lab (SIL) is one of the many programs we organize and it brings students together to work on real consulting challenges with organizations in South Africa and Madrid. Before meeting their partners in person, teams spend months researching, collaborating, and developing ideas alongside their clients.

These conversations become workshops, company visits, presentations, and shared moments that deepen both the project and the relationships behind it.

Consulting isn’t only about delivering recommendations. It’s about listening, collaborating, and understanding the people and organizations you’re working with.

That’s what social impact looks like in practice.

The best learning rarely stays theoretical.

At Social Impact Lab 2026, participants from IE University arrived ready to put their MBA learning to work on real social and environmental challenges alongside field partners.

That is the heart of the Social Impact Lab. Students apply a design thinking approach to real-world problems, engaging with stakeholders, testing ideas, and staying close to the communities at the center of the work.

For one participant, it was a chance to see how classroom learning holds up in practice, and where it can genuinely drive impact.

A good reminder that knowledge becomes most valuable the moment it meets the real world.

Leadership grows in more places than a classroom.

As part of the Global Impact Fellowship, students stepped into a flamenco class in Madrid, learning the rhythm, footwork, and quiet discipline the art demands.

GIF is a six-week experiential learning program where undergraduate students build consulting experience, leadership skills, and a global perspective while working on projects that create real social impact. Cultural immersion is part of that journey, connecting students to the place they are living and working in.

Moments like this are a reminder that some of the most lasting learning happens the moment you try something for the first time.

As a certified B Corp, Emzingo meets the same rigorous standard we ask of the leaders and organizations we work with. B Corp certification is not a label we picked up along the way. It is an ongoing commitment to measure our social and environmental impact, hold ourselves accountable, and build responsibility into every part of how we operate.

Study abroad can be more than exploring a new city.

Through the Global Impact Fellowship (GIF), undergraduate students spend six weeks in Madrid working on real consulting projects with NGOs and social enterprises while experiencing life in an international cohort.

This year, participants collaborated with organizations including afroyeye Socialty Coffee TU Techo , developing practical solutions across fundraising, marketing, organizational growth, and impact strategy. Along the way, they strengthened their consulting, leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration skills by working on challenges that matter.

At Emzingo|U, we design experiences that combine study abroad, real-world consulting, and social impact - connecting classroom learning with meaningful work beyond it.
