As we conclude another remarkable edition of the Master in Collective Housing (MCH), we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the students and professors who made this year unforgettable.

Exciting update from MCH! 🌿

We had the honor of hosting a two-day architectural seminar led by Anne Lacaton, co-founder of LACATON & VASSAL and Pritzker Prize laureate. The seminar titled “Qualities of inhabiting”, focused on environmentally friendly architecture and featured insightful contributions from guest professors christophe hutin, Florencia Collo, Diego García-Setién Terol and Sebastian Diaz from UFO UFO.

Their discussions revolved around sustainable design approaches, fostering thoughtful dialogue about creating architecture that harmonizes with our environment. 🌱

Jose Maria de Lapuerta, MCH Director and Professor at ETSAM, has inaugurated an exhibition at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile titled “30 Years of Architecture for People with Disabilities.” Open to all, this exhibition is hosted by the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urban Studies (Universidad Católica de Chile) and celebrates three decades of innovative, inclusive design.

MCH Director, José María de Lapuerta, will be a guest speaker at the prestigious Dani Oris Festival on November 15th and 16th, 2024.

But what is the Dani Oris Festival?
It's an international architecture festival organized by the Oris House of Architecture in Croatia, held annually since 2001. The event gathers over 2,000 attendees, including architects and professionals from related fields. To date, nearly 400 top experts from around the world have taken the stage at the festival.

This year's festival will be held at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb.

🌍🏠 MCH Students Build Emergency Housing with at 🛠️

As part of the "Low Resources and Emergency Housing" specialty led by professor Elena Giral, MCH students took their learning beyond the classroom and got a hands-on experience by building two emergency shelters like those donated by Better Shelter to crisis-affected communities.
Divided into two teams, students worked hands-on to assemble the shelters, gaining a deeper understanding of the real-world impact of housing solutions for vulnerable communities.

🔍 Want to see the result? The shelters are on display until Sept 19 at ETSAM’s cafeteria building. Don’t miss this chance to explore innovative, life-saving architecture!
