Battle of Magenta, Italy 1856
A battle began in the Italian city of Magenta as part of what is known as the Second Italian War of Independence. The year was 1859, and the conflict ended in a Sardinian-French victory under the command of Napoleon II, who intervened in the war on behalf of the Italians against the Austrians.

One of the battles with the highest casualties of the era, it gave rise to the name of a color, "magenta," alluding to the color of the blood shed during the conflict.

GRENADIER OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD
As is customary for the Italian sculptor Adriano Laruccia, these figures are a treatise on historical research regarding uniforms. The fidelity and precision of the modeling are exquisite. Elements such as the canteen or the cup, among the equipment accessories, are modeled separately and can be attached to or removed from the figure. He does not overlook any detail, including the mustache and goatee characteristic of the Second Empire.

En la ciudad italiana de Magenta se inició una batalla dentro de lo que se conoce como la segunda guerra de independencia italiana. Corría el año 1859 un conflicto que se saldó con una victoria sardo-francesa bajo el mando de Napoleón II que intervino en la contienda a favor de los italianos sobre los austriacos.
Una de las batallas con más bajas de la época que dio lugar al nombre de un color, el “magenta” en alusión al color de la sangre derramada durante el conflicto.

Como es costumbre en el escultor italiano Adriano Laruccia son un tratado de investigación histórica en cuanto a la uniformologia. La fidelidad y precisión del modelado en sus figuras es exquisito. Elementos como la cantimplora o la taza entre los complementos del equipo, están modeladas a parte y se pueden poner u quitar sobre la figura. No descuida ningún elemento, incluido el bigote y perilla propio del segundo imperio.

Painting an original sculpture modeled in putty is always a unique opportunity, but when its creator is Adriano Laruccia, the challenge is extraordinary. This Italian sculptor, like a goldsmith, models with exquisite detail this 54 mm miniature, leaving many parts or pieces freestanding and removable. Moreover, the dynamism and composition he has achieved are very appealing. It has been a pleasure to take on this challenge. Thanks to Fabio Nunnari for giving me this opportunity.

Pintar una escultura original modelada en masilla es siempre una oportunidad única, pero si además su autor es Adriano Laruccia el reto es extraordinario. Este escultor italiano, como un orfebre, modela en esta figura de 54mm con un detalle exquisito donde muchas partes o piezas quedan al vuelo y se pueden quitar y poner. Pero, además, el dinamismo y la composición que le ha dado son muy atractivas. Ha sido un placer afrontar este reto. Gracias a Fabio Nunnari por darme esta oportunidad.

LOUIS VALLIN
Visualizing the painting of a figure requires many decisions, even for something as specific as a Napoleonic soldier's uniform. The 6th Regiment combines red and blue, but I wanted to offer an interpretation of saturated colors typical of the quality fabrics worn by an officer.
Initially, I considered pairing these colors with a dark-colored horse, but ultimately opted for a gray one, as it would make the uniform stand out more.
I'm sharing new images with a black background and the original sculpting by Nello Rivieccio before the painting process.

Visualizar la pintura de una figura requiere muchas decisiones incluso en algo tan cerrado como es el uniforme de un soldado napoleónico. El 6º Regimiento combina el rojo con el azul, pero quise ofrecer una interpretación de colores saturados propio de las telas de calidad de un oficial.
En un principio pensé en acompañar estos colores con un caballo de color oscuro, pero finalmente opté por un tordo ya que el uniforme destacaría más.

The first time I attended Euromilitaire in 1996, I was impressed by the mounted figures, especially the larger scales like 75 or 90 mm. So many years later, I had the opportunity to paint a spectacular figure sculpted by Nello Rivieccio , depicting a Napoleonic Hussar representing Louis Valim in the midst of a charge. The movement and dynamism that Nello Rivieccio captured is astonishing; he has captured a moment with a captivating composition that draws the eye.
The figure was awarded a gold medal in the recent AMT (Torrent, Valencia) and the Mosonshow Moson Model Show (Hungary) in the category of original sculpted and painted figure.

La primera vez que asistí a Euromilitaire por el año 1996 quedé impresionado por la categoría de figuras montadas a caballo, especialmente a escalas grandes como 75 o 90 mm. Tantos años después he tenido la oportunidad de pintar una espectacular figura modelada por el escultor Nello Rivieccio que representa a un Húsar napoleónico que representa a Louis Valim en plena carga. El movimiento y dinamismo que ha plasmado Nello Rivieccio es asombroso, ha captado un instante con una composición muy atractiva que te atrapa la mirada.
La figura ha sido galardonada con medalla de oro en los recientes concursos de AMT (Torrent, Valencia y Moson Model Show (Hungría) en la categoría de figura original modelada y pintada.

El fin de semana del 11 de Abril tuve la oportunidad de asistir un año más a uno de los mejores eventos modelísticos de la actualidad, AMT cumplía 30 ediciones. Un concurso que ha visto y escrito la historia del modelismo nacional e internacional durante estos años.
Me gustaría dar la enhorabuena a todos los integrantes de la asociación por seguir fomentando el hobby de esta manera y también agradecer al jurado las medallas que otorgaron a mis últimos trabajos que presenté al concurso.

On the weekend of April 11th, I had the opportunity to attend one of the best modeling events of our time, AMT, which was celebrating its 30th edition. This competition has witnessed and shaped the history of national and international model making over the years. I would like to congratulate all the members of the association for continuing to promote the hobby in this way and also thank the jury for the medals they awarded to my latest entries.

🎨Esta figura que tenemos entre manos es un Granadero de la Guardia Imperial producido por Miniaturas Andrea y basado en la famosa pintura de Èdouard Detaille. La Guardia Imperial era una unidad de elite que luchó con Napoleón en numerosas campañas.
