Frontiers | BKI-1748 confers a high level of protection against ovine congenital toxoplasmosis when administered after IgM seroconversion 27/04/2026

We are thrilled to have this new paper out. BKI-1748 keeps proving really promising in preventing congenital transmission in pregnant sheep, this time even when the drug was administered 2 weeks after infection, a much more realistic scenario. Find out more about this exciting work by Rober San and colleagues here 👇

Frontiers | BKI-1748 confers a high level of protection against ovine congenital toxoplasmosis when administered after IgM seroconversion BackgroundUnlike mouse models of congenital toxoplasmosis, pregnant sheep models provide the opportunity to evaluate treatment strategies that more closely r...

We tested a novel inactivated vaccine in a pregnant sheep model, using an antigen extract from a low passage Type III isolate (TgPigSp1) adjuvanted with Quil-A. Our results show a significant increase in viable gestations thus providing a potential future tool to mitigate economic losses in sheep due to Toxoplasma infections. Check out more here

Check out our new paper on Neospora NcROP24, a funny protein encoded by 3 paralog genes. A defective KO produces changes in macrophages and both reduced vertical transmission and neonatal mortality in a pregnant mouse model. Great work by the recently appointed Dr. Rafael Amieva. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijpara.2026.104770
