YOUNG GLOBAL VOICES — a free international project for young learners!

We’re inviting teachers and schools to take part in this exciting opportunity, created in collaboration with two highly respected English language schools: The North West Academy and The Lewis School of English.

The project connects students aged 12–13 with peers from around the world. Up to 48 students can take part in four international classrooms of 12, each supported by a teacher. It’s a chance to practise English, share ideas and build connections across cultures.

A good way to finish our time in Ireland.

After several days of learning, conversations, activities and shared experiences, it was nice to come together as a group and mark the end of the programme.

The certificates are part of it, of course, but the real value is in what we learned from each other and in the connections made along the way.

A lovely group and a very worthwhile few days.

What do we bring back with us?

A trip like this does not end when everyone goes home.

There are conversations you keep thinking about, people you stay in touch with and small moments that influence the way you approach your work afterwards.

Ireland gave us time to learn, but also to walk, eat, talk and spend time together.

All of that was part of the experience.

Learning by doing.

We also spent time working with ideas rather than only talking about them.

Activities like this give people a chance to compare perspectives, question assumptions and see what comes up when a group looks at the same situation together.

There is rarely just one answer. Often the interesting part is the conversation that gets us there.

Some of the best conversations happened outside.

Sitting on the grass, looking out over the water, there was no rush to get anywhere or come up with a quick answer.

We had time to talk, listen and think things through together.

That slower pace is something I value. Before deciding what to do next, it helps to understand what is actually happening.

The place is part of the experience too.

During our time in Ireland, we visited spaces that made us stop, look around and take things in.

Sometimes simply being somewhere different changes the way a conversation develops. You notice things you might normally miss and start looking at familiar ideas in another way.

This visit was one of those moments.

A few memories from Ireland.

Back in July, we spent several days in Ireland learning, talking and sharing experiences with people from different places and backgrounds.

It was a good opportunity to step away from our usual routines, spend time together and look at our work from a different perspective.

Over the next few posts, I’ll share some moments from the trip and a few of the ideas that stayed with us.
