At 9:15 AM, we met the Aventus students at the Spanish language school, handed out their Málaga Business Bootcamp bags and kicked off the day with Spanish lessons until 12:30 PM.
After class, we met at Plaza de Toros for the official bootcamp kick-off. The students discovered which local entrepreneur they would be working with, met their team members and learned more about the different businesses.
Before meeting the entrepreneurs, they researched their company, including its social media, products and services, and prepared questions for their visit.
Later that day, accompanied by the Málaga Business Bootcamp team, the groups visited their entrepreneurs. One group visited a recently opened soft-serve ice cream shop, where they tasted different flavours made entirely in-house. This makes it the only shop in Málaga that manages the full soft-serve production process itself.
Another group visited a jewellery store, which creates fully customisable jewellery. The students learned more about the business and immediately scheduled a follow-up meeting to present their plan of action and ideas.
A full first day of Spanish, teamwork, research and real-life business experience!

The basic schedule for the Málaga Business Bootcamp project looks like this. Depending on the school's preferences, we can add extra activities, such as a visit to the Alcazaba or another museum, a trip to the Caminito del Rey, a bike or boat tour, or a final lunch or breakfast together.

Anouk loves the energy that some students bring to the Bootcamp, especially when they are highly motivated to help the company they’re working for!

Accommodations here in the southern of Spain can be quite different from what you are used to in Northern Europe.
Many homes are more basic, less well insulated, and often older. Central heating is usually not standard (or airconditioning), and in some properties mould can occur due to the climate (rainfall) and building style. You may also encounter different types of insects than back home, such as cockroaches. Unfortunately, this is part of living in a warm climate and does not always reflect the cleanliness of a property. It is important to be aware of this beforehand, so you can manage your expectations. Living in southern Spain sometimes requires a bit of flexibility, but for many students, it’s also part of the experience of the Málaga Business Bootcamp! 💪

Meet Lisanne!
Lisanne has been working with us for 4 years and has been focused on the Bootcamp groups from the moment she came here. Before this, she led bike tours, so she knows a lot about Málaga! Here she also shares a fun Bootcamp experience:
"Once there was an entrepreneur who joined the Bootcamp four or five times in a row because he was so impressed with what the students developed for him, especially in the area of marketing!"
