Young Crafts Woman Business Go Digital- YouGo

Project YouGo is addressing digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity for young entrepreneurs.

The project is a cooperation partnership aimed at promoting the up-skilling in digital entrepreneurship of young women(18 to 30 years) with basic craft skills or already involved in creative business through the creation of an innovative crosssectoral educational format comprising digital marketing and entrepreneurial skills and the establishment of a dedicated e-commerce platform to promote and sell their products. Within the framework of potential efforts and strategies to boost employment and job creation for young people, entrepreneurship is increasingly accepted as an important means and a valuable additional strategy to create jobs and improve livelihoods and economic independence of young people. It is an innovative approach to integrating youth into today’s changing labour markets. While often, within the frame of employment and the job market, young people are treated like adults, they actually have different specific needs who have to be researched, analysed, and targeted, in order to develop functional and effective methodologies both of education and employability upskilling.

NECESSARY SKILLS FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP

When we talk about "entrepreneurship skills", we are referring to those that, when applied, enable entrepreneurs to convert adversities into opportunities for improvement and growth for their companies. It has sometimes happened to us that that project did not end up becoming a reality, it made us develop a series of skills during the process or it made us look for new project ideas.

CRAFT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

By definition, an artisan is a "person who is dedicated to the creation of handmade products, using traditional skills and techniques." It is commonly said that, to be a good artisan, you only need passion for the work and dedication.

To be a good artisan, it is necessary to have a series of characteristics and qualities that allow you to stand out in your craft. Additionally, an artisan must have technical skills and in-depth knowledge of his/her craft. This involves knowing the right tools for each task, mastering specific techniques, and staying up to date on the latest innovations in your field. A skilled artisan is one who is always learning and improving his/her skills.

With this, it is worth asking: What to study to start working with crafts?

Artisans study a variety of skills and techniques that allow them to create unique, high-quality objects. These manual work professionals are dedicated to different disciplines, such as carpentry, ceramics, jewelry, leather goods, among many others.

To become an expert craftsman, specialized training is required. Many of them attend art and design schools, where they learn the fundamentals of drawing, composition and color. They also study specific techniques of their trade, such as wood carving, clay modeling or metal welding.
