Tote bags are a not as environmentally friendly as thought. They are a great alternative to minimise waste, but they are not so good in terms of CO2 emissions. In order to offset its manufacturing carbon footprint, a tote bag needs to be reused at least 20.000 times.

In order to contribute in this fight against pollution and to protect the many species of marine animals who have to suffer because our careless actions as humans we want to present a set of solutions that may help clean these inocent souls. Animals deserve a healthy enviroment, but we, the people, sometimes fail as humans and forget the fact that nature is our home as much as is theirs.

Here are some solutions we have been thinking about and we hope that you will find them useful: => using technology we can create a specific type of robot that can go along the beach and pick up the trash

✅ trying to create vollunteering events to go and clean the beaches

✅ giving up this method of take-away food while tourist go to the beach if the packiging is not eco-friendly

✅ creating more ecological areas where we can also find automatic recycle technology (for example, you can go and introduce the bottle in the machine and it will be transformed in reusable material)

✅ having more expensive fees as a punishment for throwing garbage away in forbidden places

✅ protecting by law specific areas in the sea or oceans in order to save them against pollution

✅ developing a better system of supervising the illegal methods of leaving substances, oils, fish nets and plastic in nature

Regarding the facts presented earlier, we did manage to select some of the main problems, such as:

❗️watching the animals' enviroment getting destroyed because of the lack of awerness on the effects of throwing plastic like it’s just confetti for a party

❗️being indifferent to the laws, regulations and projects that should help reducing the plastic production

❗️pretending that we are not directly responsible for these side and bad effects of our actions (for example: you may see a person throwing away a bag full of plastic bottles right next to you, but instead of going to report that action you just walk away)

❗️we expect to reduce plastic products use, but the solutions are not practical enough

The Mediterranean is polluted by an estimated 730 tonnes of plastic waste every day. Plastics account for between 95 to 100% of total floating litter, and more than 50% of seabed litter. Single-use plastics represent more than 60% of the total recorded marine litter on beaches.
