🏆 IMDEA Networks researchers have received the Mario Gerla Best Paper Award at MAIN 2026.
🤖 Pablo Fernández Pérez, Claudio Fiandrino, Marco Fiore and Joerg Widmer received the award for their paper, "NeuroFlexMLP: a Low Complexity MLP Architecture for Long-Term Time Series Forecasting".
📈 The study demonstrates that a lightweight architecture combining a linear backbone with non-linear residual blocks can match or outperform more complex transformer-based models, highlighting its practical viability for resource-constrained deployments.

🔍 What can a closed-access underground hacking forum reveal about the evolution of cybercrime?
🖥️ Researchers have developed XIN, the largest dataset of a closed-access Russian-English underground hacking forum, comprising around 1.3 million posts spanning more than 20 years. The dataset offers unique insights into how cybercrime has evolved and helps shed light on activity within closed, non-English cybercriminal communities.
🎉 Congratulations to Mariella Mischinger and Guillermo Suarez-Tangil on receiving the Best Dataset Paper Honorable Mention at the International AAAI Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM 2026) for this outstanding work.

📆 Today, at our , our PhD Student Iñaki Bravo will present “MULTI-FI: Enhancing Wi-Fi Sensing Accuracy via Multi-view and Context Fusion”.
🔹 In this talk, he will present recent work that introduces and addresses two limitations of existing Wi-Fi sensing frameworks: 1) How deep within the DL model should views be merged? 2) Are all views equally important? How can we assess the importance of views?

📣 This Thursday, July 23, our PhD Student Serly Moghadas will defend her doctoral thesis at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
🔹“Scalable and Explainable Deep Neural Network Frameworks for Mobile Traffic Forecasting"
📡 Her thesis investigates how deep neural networks can support reliable mobile traffic forecasting for 5G and future mobile networks. Accurate forecasts allow network operators to anticipate demand, allocate radio and computing resources efficiently, improve service quality, and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
We wish her the best of luck! 🍀
