The "University We Want" Essay Call, part of the EXPER Project, has sparked a powerful youth dialogue on the green and blue economy in the Canary Islands!

🔵Today we celebrated the EXPER Final Conference! After 30 months of collaboration to strengthen research excellence and innovation capacity in Europe’s Outermost Regions, the EXPER project reaches its final milestone — bringing together experts, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders from across Europe.

Held at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain, and joined online and in person, the conference explored key challenges and opportunities for building strong, innovative, and inclusive research ecosystems in regions like the Canary Islands and the Azores.

💡 What did we explore together?
🔹 How to strengthen research excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration.
🔹 New models for knowledge transfer and creation of spin-offs.
🔹 Strategies to attract and retain research talent, fighting brain drain in outermost regions.
🔹 Ways to improve research careers and institutional support, including Human Resources Excellence (HRS4R).
🔹The Future of European University Alliances with E³UDRES² Ent-r-e-Novators

From powerful keynotes to dynamic panel discussions and discussions, the conference was a space for learning, sharing, and building future collaborations that will keep pushing the boundaries of research and innovation in Widening regions.
