Throwback to last term!

🎭 Under the natural shade of lush trees in our beautiful grounds, Class 6 brought language and storytelling to life!

Last term, our students took their Spanish lessons into the open air, adapting traditional stories to perform for their classmates. Taking learning outside beyond classroom walls allows language to feel natural, collaborative, and deeply engaging.

Watching our secondary students embrace storytelling with such confidence shows how beautifully creativity and language learning weave together. 🍃

🎭 Bajo la sombra natural de frondosos árboles en nuestro hermoso recinto escolar, ¡la Clase 6 dio vida a la lengua y a las historias!

Al final del trimestre, nuestros alumnos trasladaron sus clases de español al aire libre, adaptando cuentos tradicionales para representarlos ante sus compañeros. Llevar el aprendizaje fuera de las aulas permite que el idioma se sienta natural, colaborativo y profundamente motivador.

Ver a nuestros estudiantes de secundaria abordar la expresión oral y la literatura con tanta confianza es una muestra de cómo se entrelazan la creatividad y los idiomas. 🍃

The art of slowing down and creating with purpose. 🌿

During Teen Summer, our older students engaged in a hands-on textile project that brought together patience, texture, and natural materials. Using soft yarn, felt, and real wooden twigs, they explored traditional weaving techniques to craft individual owl wall hangings and detailed friendship bracelets.

Working with tactile, natural elements gives our teens the space to explore their individual creativity and connect with one another in a warm, collaborative environment. Guided by our dedicated AIS teachers, these creative sessions highlight the simple joy of handmade design.

El arte de bajar el ritmo y crear con propósito. 🌿

Durante el programa Teen Summer, nuestros jovenes disfrutaron de un proyecto textil práctico que reunió paciencia, texturas y elementos de la naturaleza. Utilizando lana suave, fieltro y ramas de madera, exploraron técnicas tradicionales de tejido para elaborar tapices de búhos únicos y detalladas pulseras de la amistad.

Trabajar con materiales táctiles y naturales brinda a nuestros jóvenes el espacio para explorar su creatividad individual y conectar entre sí en un entorno cálido y colaborativo. Guiadas por nuestros profesores de AIS, estas sesiones creativas destacan el sencillo disfrute de la artesanía hecha a mano.

Problem-solving, logic, and creative strategy in action! 🧩

During Week 4 of Teen Summer, our Group 5 students put their imaginative minds to work designing and building a custom escape room. From constructing intricate wooden puzzle boxes with numerical padlocks to setting themed clues inspired by Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter, every detail was crafted with care.

The excitement reached its peak as Group 4 stepped into the challenge, using critical thinking, teamwork, and sharp observation to crack the codes and solve every puzzle.

Hands-on projects like this give our teens the perfect space to test their ideas, solve complex problems together, and build lasting friendships in a relaxed, supportive setting. Guided by our dedicated AIS teachers, it was a true celebration of summer creativity and team spirit.

¡Resolución de problemas, lógica y estrategia creativa en acción! 🧩

Durante la cuarta semana del programa Teen Summer, nuestros estudiantes del Grupo 5 pusieron a prueba su imaginación diseñando y construyendo un escape room personalizado. Desde crear complejas cajas de madera con candados numéricos hasta idear pistas temáticas inspiradas en historias como Alicia en el país de las maravillas y Harry Potter, cada detalle fue elaborado con esmero.

La emoción llegó a su punto máximo cuando los alumnos del Grupo 4 aceptaron el reto, utilizando su pensamiento crítico, trabajo en equipo y agudeza para descifrar los códigos y resolver cada enigma.

Los proyectos prácticos de este tipo ofrecen a nuestros jóvenes el espacio ideal para poner a prueba sus ideas, resolver desafíos complejos juntos y cultivar grandes amistades en un ambiente acogedor. Guiadas por nuestros profesores de AIS, esta actividad supuso una auténtica celebración de creatividad y espíritu de equipo.

Over the past six months, our primary classrooms were filled with extra warmth, patience, and joy, thanks to our wonderful intern from Germany, Steffi. 🌿

As a dedicated teaching assistant, Steffi brought gentle energy, creative hands, and true empathy to our youngest learners every single day. From guiding artistic main lessons to sharing quiet stories under the shade of the trees, her presence touched our children, teachers, and school community deeply.

Now that her placement has come to an end and she has returned home, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for everything she shared with our school family. Thank you, Steffi, for your kindness and dedication — we wish you every happiness on your next chapter! 💛

Durante los últimos seis meses, nuestras aulas de primaria se llenaron de una calidez, paciencia y alegría muy especiales gracias a nuestra maravillosa alumna en prácticas procedente de Alemania, Steffi. 🌿

En su labor como asistente de docencia, Steffi aportó una energía serena, creatividad y una profunda empatía con nuestros alumnos más pequeños día a día. Desde apoyar en el "Main Lesson" hasta acompañar lecturas a la sombra de los árboles, su presencia dejó una huella entrañable en toda nuestra comunidad educativa.

🥔✨ Our annual Potato Festival brought a wonderful, joyful close to the summer term!

Throughout the year, our Primary students lovingly tended to their very own potato plants as part of their gardening lessons. At the end of term, they finally harvested their crop with immense excitement, wonder, and pride. 🌿

With the helpful hands of Secondary students and our dedicated gardening teachers, the harvested potatoes were washed, chopped, seasoned, and cooked for our much-loved festival. This cherished tradition brought our entire Primary community together in a warm spirit of celebration, teamwork, and gratitude for nature’s generosity.

🥔✨ ¡Nuestro Festival de la Patata anual trajo un cierre maravilloso y alegre al trimestre de verano!

Durante todo el año, nuestros alumnos de Primaria cuidaron con dedicación sus propias plantas de patata como parte de sus clases de huerto. Al final del curso, cosecharon su siembra con enorme emoción, asombro y orgullo. 🌿

Con la colaboración de los estudiantes de Secundaria y nuestros dedicados maestros de huerto, las patatas cosechadas se lavaron, cortaron, sazonaron y cocinaron para nuestro querido festival. Esta tradición tan apreciada unió a toda la comunidad de Primaria en un cálido espíritu de celebración, trabajo en equipo y gratitud por la generosidad de la naturaleza.

🌿As the warm summer sun fills our grounds, the garden at AIS becomes a peaceful reminder of the natural rhythms that guide us. While our classrooms may be quiet during the summer break, our vibrant earth continues its quiet, beautiful work.

The garden is so much more than a scenic backdrop—it’s a living, breathing classroom integral to our curriculum. Here, children develop a deep, visceral connection with the earth, cultivating mindfulness, patience, and respect for nature. From sowing seeds in spring to watching fruit ripen under the summer sun, learning to care for the land helps our young learners anchor themselves, foster emotional resilience, and understand their place in the wider world. 🍇

🌿 Mientras el cálido sol de verano llena nuestro recinto, el jardín de AIS nos recuerda de forma apacible los ritmos naturales que nos guían. Aunque nuestras aulas permanecen en silencio durante las vacaciones de verano, nuestra tierra continúa su trabajo silencioso y hermoso.

El jardín es mucho más que un paisaje bonito: es un aula viva e integral para nuestro currículo. En este entorno, los niños desarrollan una conexión profunda y auténtica con la tierra, cultivando la atención plena, la paciencia y el respeto por la naturaleza. ☀️ Under the warm Spanish sun, our school gardens are in full fruit with figs and plums ripening and vibrant flowers in bloom, marking the beautiful end of our summer school. What a wonderful few weeks it has been!

From creative arts and games in the gardens to splashing in the pool and sporting adventures, every single day has been filled with joy, connection, and effortless English immersion. A heartfelt thank you goes to our wonderful AIS teachers, who brought their passion, warmth, and care to every activity, ensuring our values shone through all summer long.

☀️ Bajo el cálido sol español, los jardines de nuestro colegio están en pleno fruto con higos y ciruelas madurando y flores en flor, marcando el hermoso final de nuestra escuela de verano. ¡Qué semanas tan maravillosas hemos vivido!

Desde artes creativas y juegos en el jardín hasta chapuzones en la piscina y aventuras deportivas, cada día ha estado lleno de alegría, conexión y una inmersión natural en inglés.
