I mentioned a 'tailored tuition' progamme, aimed at students who are preparing for IAL exams in January in Business , Economics and Psychology.
The idea was to help prepare students on any specific problems they may have, but also help students with the structure of Exam answers.
I am a senior examiner with both Edexcel and Cambridge and look at it not only from a teachers, but an examiners view. Knowledge can be learned but applying that knowledge to exam questions is a skill that can often make a difference between grades.
Most of my enquiries are for Business and economics. The exams are in early January and if you take half term and xmas into account there is not a great deal of time left to prepare.
The concept has proved incredibly popular, students have no long term commitment and can come in and out as they please.
I have organised it in a way that it can be done online, so distance is not an issue. I provide all notes, exam questions which I then mark and feedback quickly. Every student has their own google classroom so I can communicate . I also have my own you tube channel and will prepare specific presentations on topics that students need help on.
You just pay for the hours you complete. I have my own full time students , so people following this programme need to be flexible with time I can work some evenings and weekends,

The Government has announced that exams for 2021 have been put back for 3 weeks and the exams will run from the 7th June to 2nd July, also results will now not be out until later in August.

My term at the Centre starts today, because students have missed some time and I dont want my students to get behind. Welcome to all that are returning for their second year with me and those who are starting new.

I have spent some time making sure I have all protocols in place, although it is easier when you just teach one to one. This is my first year where I am not going part of my time to school, so I can totally concentrate on my home students .

I have students following A level Psychology, Business and Economics, some doing the traditional A level route and some the International Advanced level programme.

I am nearly full , but can take possibly two more students for any of these subjects, age , background is not a criteria for me as there are many students who for various reasons delay Education for some years . I can take years 12 or 13..students also.
It has been a difficult time for education generally and schools will face challenges as well, but it is important that students do socialise again and I'm sure the local schools will do all they can to ensure students and staff are safe. The situation may change and we have to be flexible enough to deal with it, so some students will be face to face ( or mask to mask!!) and others prefer online. I leave it to students and parents to decide.

I just hope that the crazy way the Government tried to do the A level results has been put firmly in the bin , and you get the grades you deserve and worked for, based on your teachers assessments. Teachers know their students better than any comuter programme and I hope that is reflected in your results tomorrow
