Air Koboshi IS back!!
About Rocío Wabizasui,
My first encounter with kamishibai was when we organized the Ibiza Japanese Cultural Week in 2010.
We invited my Sumi-e teacher, Kumiko Fujimura, and also the kamishibai storyteller Sachigo Azuma.
I was instantly captivated by the elegance and Japanese atmosphere of kamishibai, as well as its ability to inspire the imagination of children of all ages.
I then searched for a kamishibai publisher in Spain, which no longer exists, and they sponsored us with a small theater and stories from around the world.
I researched Japanese myths and legends and illustrated my own stories. Afterward, I wrote my own stories using different painting techniques.
I have conducted workshops for creating your own story with children, and I have performed in libraries, schools, exhibitions, theaters, and cultural centers.
I am eager to share my personal way of opening the doors to the magic of storytelling and kamishibai with other kamishibai storytellers and audiences.
