Alkka - Founder and director
From an early age, Alkka’s talent and passion for the performing arts shone brightly. She immersed herself in community projects, county choirs, and local productions, laying the foundation for a lifelong creative journey. In 1997, she formally pursued performing arts, earning her diploma and going on to perform in London's West End.
Inspired by her experiences on stage, Alkka discovered a deep calling to educate. She transitioned into teaching, a decision that would shape the next 25 years of her career. After studying Primary Education at Bedfordshire University, she began teaching in schools across Buckinghamshire.
Driven by a desire to give more children access to the arts, Alkka founded Misfits Performing Arts School—a non-profit organisation that became a creative hub for over 50 young performers. Over nearly a decade, the group staged regular productions, raised funds for charities, and proudly won the Buckinghamshire Drama Festival, offering students opportunities to perform in professional settings.
Seeking to deepen her expertise, Alkka successfully auditioned for the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied vocal performance and became a certified vocal coach in 2013. Around this time, she shifted into secondary education, where she was invited to establish and lead music departments in two newly opened academies in Buckinghamshire and Northampton.
Over the past 15 years, Alkka’s diverse performance career has included lead roles with Creating Sunshine Productions, West End credits, fronting a headline band, session work with renowned artists, album launches, and main stage performances at major festivals.
Now based in Spain, Alkka continues to blend artistry and education. She performs alongside her husband Chris, leads a vibrant community choir, teaches English and music, runs innovative vocal workshops grounded in RAM methodologies, and writes original music.
