Empezar Infantil desde 1 año es un gran paso para los niños… y también para sus familias. Pero ¿cómo saber si están preparados? 🌱

Algunas señales, siempre adaptadas a su edad, pueden orientarnos: comienzan a comer con mayor autonomía, expresan sus necesidades, comprenden instrucciones sencillas, toleran separarse de sus familiares durante un tiempo y muestran curiosidad por otros niños.

No es necesario que dominen todas estas habilidades. Cada niño madura a su ritmo y el colegio también es el lugar donde aprende a ganar autonomía, comunicarse, compartir y desenvolverse con seguridad.

Para facilitar la adaptación:
🏫 Visitad el colegio antes del primer día.
⏰ Introducid poco a poco horarios similares a los escolares.
📚 Leed cuentos sobre el inicio del cole.
🎒 Preparad juntos la mochila.
💙 Hablad de esta etapa con ilusión y confianza.

Las despedidas breves, las rutinas predecibles y la tranquilidad de los adultos ayudan a que el comienzo sea más positivo.

Starting Early Years from the age of one is a big step for children—and for their families too. But how can we tell whether they are ready? 🌱

Some age-appropriate signs can guide us: becoming more independent at mealtimes, communicating their needs, understanding simple instructions, coping with short periods away from family and showing curiosity about other children.

They do not need to have mastered every skill. Each child develops at their own pace, and school is also where they learn to become more independent, communicate, share and feel confident.

To make the transition easier:
🏫 Visit the school before the first day.
⏰ Gradually introduce school-like routines.
📚 Read stories about starting school.
🎒 Prepare their backpack together.
💙 Talk about this new stage with excitement and confidence.

Short goodbyes, predictable routines and calm reassurance from adults can make the start of school more positive.

A lo largo del curso celebramos diferentes actividades literarias que permiten a nuestros alumnos descubrir nuevas historias, ampliar su vocabulario y desarrollar la imaginación.

Las Ferias del Libro en inglés y español les acercan a nuevos autores y les animan a crear su propia biblioteca, mientras que el Día Mundial del Libro transforma el colegio en una auténtica celebración de la literatura, con alumnos y profesores caracterizados como sus personajes favoritos.

Además, llevamos el aprendizaje más allá del aula gracias a iniciativas y colaboraciones con la comunidad, como nuestras sesiones de cuentacuentos en inglés, donde los niños disfrutan del idioma a través de las historias, la imaginación y la lectura compartida.

Porque cada libro abre una puerta a nuevas ideas, aventuras y formas de comprender el mundo. 💙

Inspiring a love of books and reading is an important part of everyday life at our school. 📚✨

Throughout the year, we organise a variety of literary activities that help pupils discover new stories, expand their vocabulary and develop their imagination.

Our English and Spanish Book Fairs introduce them to new authors and encourage them to build their own personal libraries, while World Book Day transforms the school into a celebration of literature, with pupils and staff dressing as their favourite literary characters.

We also take learning beyond the classroom through community initiatives and partnerships, including our English storytelling sessions, where children experience language through stories, imagination and shared reading.

Because every book opens the door to new ideas, adventures and ways of understanding the world. 💙

El uniforme escolar forma parte de la identidad de nuestro colegio y contribuye a mantener una imagen cuidada y adecuada durante toda la jornada.

Os dejamos algunas indicaciones útiles:

1. Todas las prendas están disponibles en Eureda Textil. El calzado y los accesorios pueden adquirirse en cualquier tienda.
2. A partir de Y1, el alumnado debe llevar el uniforme diario o formal, excepto los días de Educación Física.
3. No se deben mezclar prendas del uniforme formal y deportivo.
4. Calzado permitido:
👞 Zapatos negros o azul marino.
👟 Zapatillas blancas, negras o azul marino. Para los más pequeños, se recomienda velcro.
🧦 Medias o calcetines azul marino.
🧦 Calcetines deportivos blancos.
5. La mochila escolar es obligatoria.
6. Todas las prendas deben estar marcadas con el nombre y los apellidos del alumno.
7. Solo se permiten uniformes con el logotipo blanco de IEP o Dukes Education. El antiguo logotipo rojo de IEP ya no está autorizado.

The school uniform is part of our school identity and helps students maintain a smart and appropriate appearance throughout the day.

Here are some useful guidelines:

1. All uniform items are available from Eureda Textil. Shoes and accessories may be purchased from any shop.
2. From Y1 onwards, students must wear the daily or formal uniform, except on P.E. days.
3. Formal and sports uniform items must not be mixed.
4. Permitted footwear:
👞 Black or navy blue shoes.
👟 White, black or navy blue trainers. Velcro is recommended for younger children.
🧦 Navy blue tights or socks.
🧦 White sports socks.
5. The school backpack is compulsory.
6. All items should be labelled with the student’s full name.
7. Only uniforms with the white IEP or Dukes Education logo are permitted. The old red IEP logo is no longer accepted.

Este curso, nuestro programa de actividades extraescolares incorpora una gran novedad: ¡baloncesto! 🏀

Esta nueva actividad estará dirigida por Judith Gómez, jugadora profesional de baloncesto, que ha estudiado y competido durante varios años en Estados Unidos. Allí también adquirió una valiosa experiencia como entrenadora de niños y jóvenes.

A través de los entrenamientos, el alumnado podrá mejorar su técnica, coordinación y condición física mientras desarrolla valores fundamentales como el esfuerzo, la disciplina, el compañerismo y el trabajo en equipo.

Una oportunidad fantástica para descubrir este deporte, aprender de una profesional y disfrutar de cada entrenamiento dentro y fuera de la pista.

This year, our extracurricular activities programme welcomes an exciting new addition: basketball! 🏀

The activity will be led by Judith Gómez, a professional basketball player who studied and competed in the United States for several years. During her time there, she also gained valuable experience coaching children and young people.

Through each training session, students will improve their technique, coordination and fitness while developing essential values such as effort, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.

A fantastic opportunity to discover the sport, learn from a professional player and enjoy every moment both on and off the court.

El verano es un momento para descansar, disfrutar y seguir aprendiendo de forma natural. Para que el inglés no se quede atrás durante las vacaciones, os compartimos algunas recomendaciones sencillas que pueden incorporarse fácilmente al día a día. ☀️📚

Ver películas o dibujos animados en versión original, escuchar canciones en inglés, leer cuentos adaptados a cada edad, jugar a juegos de mesa o dedicar unos minutos al día a conversar son pequeñas acciones que ayudan a mantener el contacto con el idioma.

Lo más importante es que el aprendizaje siga siendo divertido, cercano y sin presión. Mantener el inglés presente durante el verano favorecerá una vuelta al colegio más sencilla y ayudará a los alumnos a conservar la confianza y la fluidez adquiridas durante el curso.

Summer is a time to rest, enjoy and continue learning naturally. To make sure English does not get left behind during the holidays, we are sharing a few simple recommendations that can easily become part of everyday life. ☀️📚

Watching films or cartoons in their original version, listening to songs in English, reading age-appropriate books, playing board games or spending a few minutes each day speaking are small actions that help children stay connected to the language.

The most important thing is to keep learning enjoyable, relaxed and pressure-free. Staying in contact with English during the summer will make returning to school easier and help students maintain the confidence and fluency they have developed throughout the year.

En International English School of Castellón seguimos creando espacios donde la tecnología se convierte en una herramienta para imaginar, experimentar y crear.

Así nace nuestro Creative Coding Club, una propuesta basada en proyectos que permitirá a los alumnos diseñar videojuegos, crear animaciones y arte digital, programar dispositivos con BBC micro y dar sus primeros pasos en la robótica educativa. 💻🤖

A través de Scratch, creative coding, micro y robótica, cada estudiante podrá avanzar a su ritmo, superar retos y transformar sus ideas en proyectos reales. Durante el proceso desarrollará competencias como la creatividad, el pensamiento computacional, la resolución de problemas, la autonomía y el trabajo en equipo.

El club estará dirigido por Raúl Cano, profesor de Computer Science y Digital Media en nuestro centro y profesor asociado en la Universitat Jaume I.

Porque programar no consiste únicamente en escribir código: también significa imaginar, construir y dar vida a nuevas ideas. ✨

At International English School of Castellón, we continue to create spaces where technology becomes a tool for imagining, experimenting and creating.

Our Creative Coding Club is a project-based programme where students will design video games, create animations and digital art, programme devices using BBC micro and take their first steps into educational robotics. 💻🤖

Through Scratch, creative coding, micro and robotics, each student will progress at their own pace, overcome challenges and turn their ideas into real projects. Along the way, they will develop creativity, computational thinking, problem-solving, independence and teamwork.

The club will be led by Raúl Cano, Computer Science and Digital Media teacher at our school and associate lecturer at Universitat Jaume I.

Because coding is not simply about writing code: it is also about imagining, building and bringing new ideas to life. ✨
