Whether you came with friends or solo, there was plenty of chatting, laughing and meeting new people. No classes, no pressure — just good vibes and language exchange in a relaxed atmosphere. 🍻💬

Que no cunda el pánico! 💼 Let’s talk business etiquette in English.

We’ve all been there: estás en la oficina o en un Teams call, and you need to clarify something without sounding rude o demasiado directo.

Grammar is great, but knowing how to "soften" your tone makes all the difference! ☕✨

Quick Swap Summary:

❌ "That's not my job." ➔ Delegate politely!

❌ "You are wrong." ➔ Soften your disagreement.

❌ "Why did you do that?" ➔ Ask for context instead.

You don’t always need more vocabulary to sound more natural in English. 🇬🇧

A veces, son esas tiny conversational phrases las que make the biggest difference. 👀

Things like “to be fair”, “fair enough” and “I mean” don’t necessarily make your English more advanced — pero sí pueden hacer que suenes mucho más natural, relaxed y comfortable when you speak.

And the best part? Native speakers use them ALL the time. 🙌

🇬🇧🇪🇸 WE’RE BACK, GENTE! 🇪🇸🇬🇧

What a comeback! 🔥 Después del summer break, last night we were BACK at Savage for our first Tandem of the new season… and you guys showed up! 🙌

There was mucho English, mucho español y bastante Spanglish 😂🗣️ — plus new faces, old faces, good vibes and plenty of “How do you say…?” moments!

It was so good to see the room full of people chatting, mixing languages and meeting new people. That’s exactly what Savage Tandem is all about. ❤️

Gracias a everyone who came along and made our first night back so special! 🇬🇧🇪🇸

And of course… we do it all again next Thursday! 😉

Quieres hablar como un verdadero native? 🇬🇧✨

Sometimes standard English just doesn't cut it, y necesitas expresiones con un poquito más de drama y personalidad. The British are absolute masters of sarcasm, understatement, y metáforas súper gráficas.

Aquí tienes 4 expresiones típicas del Reino Unido para que no te quedes lost in translation:

"Couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery" 🍻 — Se usa para hablar de alguien que es un verdadero desastre organizando algo. Literalmente: no organizaría ni una fiesta en una fábrica de ce***za!

"Couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding" 🍮 — Para describir a alguien que es súper flojo, inofensivo o que no tiene fuerza ni para romper la capa floja de un arroz con leche.

"Mad as a box of frogs" 🐸 — Cuando alguien o algo está totalmente loco, excéntrico o es un absoluto caos (como una caja llena de ranas saltando).

"As useful as an ashtray on a motorbike" 🏍️ — Para decir que algo es un cero a la izquierda o que no sirve absolutamente para nada. Un cenicero en una moto? Total nonsense!
