If you want your children to make the most of summer, there are lots of things anyone can do for their kids to make sure they don’t stop learning English just because they are on school holidays.

- Whenever your kids want to watch TV, make sure to put the audio into English. You will soon notice how easy it is for children to sing their favourite songs in English without realizing they are learning.
- If you can afford it, sign your children up for an English camp. This is a great option since kids would spend some days surrounded by English-speaking teachers.
- Even when older kids go outside to play, they can do many activities that incorporate English vocabulary. This is a great idea to review some basic vocabulary.

Si quieres que tus hijos aprovechen el verano, hay muchas cosas que pueden hacer para asegurarse de que no dejan de aprender ingles simplemente porque están de vacaciones.

- Cada vez que tus hijos quieran ver la televisión, asegúrate de poner los audios en Inglés. Pronto notarás lo fácil que es para los niños cantar su canción favorita en inglés, sin darse cuenta de que están aprendiendo.
- Si te lo puedes permitir, apunta a tus hijos a un campamento de inglés. Esta es una opción genial ya que los niños pasarían unos días rodeados de profesores angloparlantes.
- Incluso cuando los niños más mayores salen a jugar pueden hacer actividades que incorporen vocabulario en inglés. Esta es una gran idea para repasar el vocabulario básico.

Today we are going to talk about a magazine called “Ranger Rick”. This is a nature magazine that has been in publication since 1967. It promotes environmental activism and is bursting with spectacular photos, fabulous stories and awesome activities. The magazine is aimed to children ages 4 to 12. The magazine website is really appealing and a good way to know more about the environment.

Hoy vamos a hablar de una revista llamada “Ranger Rick”. Es una revista sobre naturaleza que se ha estado publicando desde 1967. Promueve actividades medioambientales y está llena de fotos espectaculares, historias fabulosas y actividades increíbles. La revista está dirigida a niños y niñas de entre 4 y 12 años. La web de la revista es realmente atractiva y es una buena manera de conocer más sobre el medio ambiente.

Now that we are at the end of the course it is a good idea to review what you have learned. The best way to do it is obviously by playing games. We would like to recommend a game called “Phrase maker”. This is a simple game for practicing and learning how to form sentences correctly. The idea is that by forming the phrases in a trial and error type way, they can be studied and re-enforced effectively. The game is highly recommended since it contains the basic grammar and vocabulary that children must know in order to pass the Cambridge YLE exams (Young learners English exams). Ahora que estamos a final de curso es una buena idea repasar lo que habéis aprendido. La mejor manera de hacerlo es, obviamente, jugando. Nos gustaría recomendar un juego denominado “Phrase maker”. Es un juego simple para practicar y aprender cómo formas frases correctamente. La idea es que, mediante la construcción de frases por el método de ensayo y error, podamos estudiar los errores y corregirlos de una forma efectiva. El juego es muy recomendable ya que contiene la gramática básica y el vocabulario que los niños deben conocer para aprobar los exámenes YLE de Cambridge. If your children are keen on tales and stories you may be interested to know some appealing websites where you can find a great selection of best nursery stories such as “The jungle book” or “Pinocchio”. Each video tells the story in about 15 minutes and you can watch it with subtitles both in English and Spanish. Have a look at it!

Hello again! This week I would like to tecommend you "The Innocent", a book by Ian Mcewan. These novel takes place in 1955-56 Berlin at the beginning of the Cold War and centres on a secret operation to build a tunnel from the American sector of Berlin into the Russian sector to tap phone lines of the Soviet High Command. If you want to improve your English as well as your knowledge about history, this is your book.

¡Hola de nuevo! Esta semana me gustaría recomendaros "The Innocent", un libro de Ian Mcewan. Esta novela toma lugar en el Berlín de 1955-56, al inicio de la Guerra Fría y se centra e una operación secreta para construir un tunel que comunique el sector americano con el ruso para pinchar las líneas telefónicas del Alto Mando Soviético.
