Four days at sea. Countless lessons beyond the classroom. 🌍⚓️

Together with UPF Barcelona School of Management, we completed a new edition of the Certificate in Maritime Logistics onboard a Ro-Pax vessel connecting and .

Participants explored maritime logistics where it happens in real life: onboard, inside port terminals, and through hands-on teamwork focused on international trade operations, import/export strategies, Incoterms, customs management, and intermodal transport challenges.

From bridge visits and cargo operations to practical case studies and international collaboration, the experience offered a closer look at the people, systems, and decisions behind global supply chains.

Because understanding logistics is not only about moving cargo - it’s about connecting territories, industries, and people.

Thank you to everyone who made this edition possible 🚢

This week felt a bit like logistics in motion: ports, trains, vessels, simulations, strategy sessions, and a lot of people learning directly from the environments where everything happens. 🌍

Between , , , and , participants experienced logistics from multiple perspectives. The MOST course once again turned the Mediterranean into a classroom at sea, while Port2Rail brought rail freight back to the centre of the conversation through operational visits across Portugal’s logistics corridors.

We also joined the MEDPorts General Assembly in Marseille, where Mediterranean ports and partners came together to discuss cooperation, connectivity, sustainability, and the future of maritime logistics in the region.

In Barcelona, the week continued with container terminal visits, maritime workshops, and digital logistics simulations through the Port Virtual Lab with groups from Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Sorbonne Université, IESE Business School, and Lycée International Bon Soleil, each activity offering a different way to understand how supply chains really work.

At the same time, professionals from Regione Liguria explored how Artificial Intelligence can support decision-making and innovation within the port sector through a dedicated AI training programme focused on practical applications and real operational challenges.

Some weeks are about conferences. Others are about operations.
This one was about bringing both worlds together. ⚓🚆💻

Over the last three days, Port2Rail once again travelled across Portugal by rail — reconnecting ports, terminals and logistics corridors through a learning experience built directly inside the operational network.

From Lisbon to Setúbal, Sines, Aveiro, Leixões and Entroncamento, participants combined technical sessions, operational visits, teamwork and practical exercises with the Port Virtual Lab, experiencing intermodality where it truly happens.

Fourteen years after the first edition, bringing this course back onto the rails felt both exciting and meaningful. More than a training programme, Port2Rail is a reminder that logistics is built through collaboration, shared knowledge and direct contact with real operations.

💬 Eduard Rodés:
“Putting this course back on the rails fourteen years after its first edition also meant recovering a form of learning directly connected to the operational reality of rail freight and intermodal transport.”

A heartfelt thank you to APAT and to all institutions, ports, railway operators and partners who made this edition possible through trust, coordination and an extraordinary collaborative effort.

We leave this edition with new ideas, stronger connections and the feeling that the next chapter of Port2Rail is already beginning.

What happens when logistics education leaves the classroom and goes to sea? 🌍⚓️

This past weekend, together with Université d’Évry Paris-Saclay, participants joined a new edition of the MOST course onboard a Ro-Pax vessel traveling between and .

Over four immersive days, they explored port operations, short sea shipping, sustainability in transport, and intermodal logistics through workshops, case studies, and onboard visits.

Beyond the technical knowledge, the course created opportunities to collaborate, exchange perspectives, and experience the rhythm of maritime logistics firsthand.

Because understanding transport means experiencing how it moves in the real world 🚢

Thank you to everyone who took part in this edition!

This week took us from rail terminals and classrooms to ports, vessels, and international fairs across the Mediterranean.

We wrapped up the first MOST Italy – Genoa Edition, where students from Switzerland and Italy explored sustainable logistics between Genoa and Palermo through real operations, case studies, and onboard learning experiences. At the same time, SURCO Navarra concluded between Tudela and Pamplona, bringing companies and professionals closer to the practical realities of rail freight and intermodal transport.

In Casablanca 🇲🇦, we were proud to once again be part of Logismed 2026, reconnecting with our network across Africa and the Mediterranean and celebrating a new PVL certification ceremony at IFTL Nouaceur, a reminder that logistics education continues to create opportunities far beyond the classroom.

Meanwhile in Civitavecchia, our Director Eduard Rodés delivered sessions within the GLIPS programme at ITS Academy G. Caboto, focusing on digitalisation, maritime ICT, and innovation in port-logistics systems. And in Zaragoza, our Deputy Director Marta Miquel continued strengthening ties with educational centres and logistics stakeholders linked to the Port of Barcelona community.

Ships, railways, terminals, simulators, and a lot of exchange of ideas: this week reflected the many ways logistics can be experienced and understood. 🚆🚢💻

From Barcelona to Civitavecchia, participants from CETM and UPF of the MOST course explored intermodality and Short Sea Shipping directly at sea, while students from eCAT – Institut Lluïsa Cura combined terminal visits and sustainability workshops to better understand how logistics and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

At the same time, new editions of both PVL with Tecnocampus and SURCO Navarra got underway, focusing on digital logistics simulation and rail freight transport respectively, two areas that continue to shape the future of the sector.

Barcelona also welcomed a delegation from the Ports of Genoa for a strategic exchange on logistics platforms and port competitiveness, alongside several maritime visits and workshops with several groups.

And to close the week, part of our team joined the celebration of Día del Transitario, recognising the people and companies who keep international trade moving every day.

Now, we’re getting ready to cross the Mediterranean once again 🌍
