🌊 Back, recharged, and ready for what’s next.

Our first week after the summer break started at a gentler pace, but we were already back to learning by doing. We welcomed 50 participants from Austral Group, including MBA students from the University of Leeds, for a Logistics Port Workshop combining an introduction to the Port of Barcelona with a maritime visit, a fitting way to get back into the rhythm of port life.

And this is only the warm-up. The final stretch of 2026 will bring new courses, projects, partnerships and plenty of activity, all leading into an especially meaningful milestone: the Escola Europea’s 20th anniversary. 🎉

Summer batteries charged. The port is moving. So are we. Here we go! ⚓🚢

Some classrooms have four walls. Ours has quays, terminals, and ships. ⚓

This week, the Port of Barcelona welcomed students, professionals, and future leaders from a wide range of backgrounds, all with one thing in common: a curiosity to understand how global trade really works.

From La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull, IQS, UPF, and UAB to professionals from API – Academy of Performance Improvement, every visit offered a different perspective but shared the same goal: connecting ideas with reality through direct experience.

Because understanding logistics isn’t only about learning how goods move: it’s about seeing the people, infrastructure, and decisions that make it all possible.

That’s what learning by doing looks like. 🌍🚢

What a week on the water! 🚢

Last week our team delivered another edition of MOST – Motorways of the Sea Training, four days aboard a Grimaldi Lines Ro-Pax vessel sailing from Barcelona to Civitavecchia and back.

This edition welcomed two outstanding groups: professionals from eight Latin American countriesthrough EAE Business School, and vocational education teachers from the Generalitat Valenciana, taking part in a train-the-trainers programme to bring real-world logistics and intermodal transport knowledge into their classrooms.

Participants visited the Port of Barcelona, explored the ship's bridge and worked on a live case study covering port operations, short sea shipping and transport costs, experiencing maritime logistics far beyond the classroom.

A big thank you to Port de Barcelona, Grimaldi Lines and the Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Centro Settentrionale for making this unique learning experience possible.

Because when we train educators, the impact reaches hundreds of future professionals. 💙

Eight maritime visits. One week shaped by movement, exchange, and new perspectives. ⚓🌍

From students and entrepreneurs to international professionals, the Port of Barcelona became a meeting point for learning and discovery. Alongside visits with IE Business School / Austral Group, MOOI Academy, La Salle, and award-winning teams, we welcomed a delegation from Yantian District, Shenzhen, opening conversations around smart navigation, cross-border logistics, and future cooperation.

Beyond the waterfront, we launched the Port VirtualLab – Going Digital MEDports Edition, strengthened our partnership with ASCAME, and joined MedCat Days 2026 to contribute to the wider dialogue on connectivity, innovation, and cooperation across the Mediterranean.

A busy week, but above all, a week of connections: between ports, people, ideas, and regions.

Learning takes many forms and sometimes the best classroom is a port. ⚓🌍

Over the past few days, educators, students, and international visitors experienced logistics where it happens every day. From launching a new Port Virtual Lab Training of Trainers edition with almost 50 educators from across Spain, to welcoming students from RMIT College of Business and Law, Forum-Nexus, and CLIC2COM to explore the Port of Barcelona firsthand, every activity was designed to turn theory into experience.

Meanwhile, in Italy, another edition of the Genoa Port Academy came to a close, giving AFTRAL / ISTELI students an inside look at one of Europe’s most dynamic port systems and the operations that keep Mediterranean trade moving.

Different countries, different audiences, one shared goal: helping the next generation of logistics professionals understand the sector by experiencing it firsthand. 🌊

You can study in a classroom, but you only truly understand it when you see it in action.

We have just concluded the second 2026 edition of the Genoa Port Academy, welcoming the future logistics professionals from AFTRAL for two days of immersive learning in one of Europe's most dynamic ecosystems.

Throughout the programme, students discovered the many faces of the Ports of Genoa: from the highly operations of Vado Gateway, to the coffe and cacao logistics of Pacorini Silocaf, the activities of the Terminal Messina, and a fascinating overview of the port system thanks to Leonardo Picozzi.

A heartfelt thank you to the Port Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea, to all the companies and professionals who welcomed us with such , and to everyone who made this edition possible.

Most importantly, congratulations to the students. Your , and to understand what happens behind the scenes of the logistics world made this experience truly special.

We have no doubt you will help shape the of our sector. ⚓🌍

How do we prepare port and logistics professionals for a future that is already becoming more digital, green, and interconnected? 🚢

This was one of the key questions explored at the NEXUS International Conference – DGTMP 2026, held from 22 to 25 June in Sines and Setúbal, Portugal, where Orlando Reveco represented the Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport.

The event brought together universities, port authorities, companies, and international experts to discuss the digital and green transition of maritime ports, and the skills needed to support this transformation.

During the conference, Orlando Reveco presented Port Virtual Lab, the Escola’s simulation-based learning platform designed to bring port and logistics education closer to real operational environments through immersive learning, digital tools, and practical training.

For us, this kind of international exchange is essential: innovation in ports is not only about technology, but also about people and the ability to train the professionals who will lead the transition.

A big thank you to the organisers and participants of DGTMP 2026 for the opportunity to share ideas, learn from others, and contribute to the conversation on the ports of the future.🚀

Sometimes the best way to understand logistics is to see it in motion. ⚓🌍

This week, we welcomed professionals, students, and international partners to explore the port ecosystem from different perspectives. From introducing CEVA Logistics to the Port of Barcelona, to welcoming Georgetown University students and HAK.ZWEI Salzburg for maritime visits, each activity offered a closer look at how ports connect industries, people, and global trade.

Beyond , we were also proud to participate in the NEXUS International Conference – DGTMP 2026 in , where we shared how the Port Virtual Lab is helping prepare the next generation of logistics professionals through immersive, simulation-based learning.

Whether on the water or on the conference stage, every exchange this week reinforced the same idea: innovation grows faster when knowledge is shared. 🚢💡
