For today’s , take inspiration from the symbols in this Ghanaian textile. “Adinkra” cloth was originally a funerary fabric worn as a wrapper by family members of the deceased or hung as a banner at the deceased’s home. The geometric patterns act as symbols that communicate a parting message to the deceased in their journey to the spirit world.

Join us to discuss and network on the innovative use of synchrotron and neutron radiation in investigating cultural heritage materials and artifacts. We are seeking original contributions on synchrotron and neutron applications in art, archaeology, and built heritage research to foster novel approaches and collaborations. This event is co-organized with the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource.

Abstract submissions are open through May 1.
