ATPL Aircraft Performance - croswwind and head/tailwind made easy (ATPLQ 326034). This is an extract from my latest video on my youtube channel (link in bio), where I show you 3 methods to calculate the croswind and head/tailwind component at landing or take off, given the wind w/v and the direction of the runway. Method 1: mathematics; method 2: graph from CAP698; method 3: rule of thumb/mental maths. This video reflects how I work in 1:1 sessions with my students! ATPL — RNAV VOR, QDR, magnetic variation, conversion angle (ATPLQ 622616)

This clip is an extract from a free ATPL training video I just posted on my youtube channel (link in bio).

It’s a very short caption in which you’ll learn to convert true bearings into magnetic bearings and eventually, considering that VOR radials are great circles, applying the conversion angle formula from GNAV to simply identifying the QDR or radial on which the aircraft is flying.

POV: ATPL instructor and coach

This is my world. Laptops and tablets, always with a pen in the vicinity as I am literally drawing all the time! Whiteboad makes the virtual class interactive and great again, and I have to say I love it. On the wall, postcards from my beloved; graffiti from my 6-year old son and a drawing of mine.
