Halloween

Halloween is a holiday in many English speaking countries that is celebrated on the night of October 31st. Children wear costumes and they go to peoples' homes saying "Trick or treat!" to ask for candy and sweets! People sometimes dress up as ghosts, witches, goblins and other scary things for Halloween.

Trick-or-Treating

It is said that on the night of All Hallow's Eve the gap between the living and dead worlds are closer, and that dead souls come back to earth. The souls would then look for a living body to possess for the next year. People, not wanting to be possessed would leave food and drinks outside their doors to please the souls.

Dressing Up

As well as leaving food out, some people would dress up as ghosts and scary things so the dead souls would think that they were dead too, or to scare them away.
Eventually, these two traditions combined, creating Trick-or-Treating.

Tips for preparing your resume in English: Part 2

Tip #5: Provide references (or least a “References upon request”) on your resume.
It’s important for a company to know that others have found your work to be outstanding and that they can check with someone else about your promptness, reliability, etc.
Tip #6: Be clear about your specializations.
It doesn’t make sense to put down “everything” under your specializations. No one can specialize in all areas and do a superb job with them all. Also, if you do not feel completely confident with your language skills do not put that you are fluent they will find out eventually.
Tip #7: Submit your resume as requested (ONLY).If the company requests resumes as an attachment to an email or uploaded to its website, do it that way. There is no sense in going about it another way, as this shows that you are unable to follow instructions.
Tip #8: Prepare your answers for an interview beforehand.
Some companies will interview you in the language that you say you are fluent in, so it is best to be prepared for posible questions that may come up in the interview just in case.
