A special afternoon at the DIME Literary Club 📚✨
This term, we read El jardín dormido by the Catalan writer Carla Gracia Mercadé, a beautiful story about self-discovery, transformation, and healing after a breakup.
In our final session last month, we had the pleasure of welcoming the author herself. Our students had the unique opportunity to ask her everything they were curious about: the inspiration behind the story, the meaning of the garden, and the connection between the protagonist and her own life.
Carla answered with great openness, sharing her thoughts and emotions, signing books, and taking photos with the group.
An inspiring and moving experience that reminds us how powerful reading and sharing stories can be.
Thank you so much for your generosity and for sharing this special moment with us! ♥️

Yesterday we celebrated Sant Jordi in Barcelona in a special way. 🌹📚
Our B1 students left the classroom to experience the tradition, practise Spanish, and enjoy a different kind of lesson surrounded by books and roses.
This type of activity reflects our way of teaching: learning Spanish is not only about grammar, but about living the language, connecting with the culture, and feeling part of the city.

Sant Jordi is one of the most special days in Barcelona 🌹📚
Based on the legend of the knight who defeats the dragon, it’s a beautiful Catalan tradition where people give roses and books as symbols of love and culture.
From early morning, the streets fill with stalls, books, and people enjoying the city, especially in the centre, where many authors take part in book signings.
Among them is our teacher Cristina Ruiz Gallardo, who will be signing her books at Arc de Triomf (53–55) from 16:00 to 17:30. Come by, say hi and meet the author!
A perfect day to go out, enjoy Barcelona, and celebrate culture.

Last Friday we organised a very special activity that our students always love: a vermut in Spanish.🍸🍸
We met at La Vermu, a small vermutería in the Gràcia neighbourhood. With a good vermut, some olives and a couple of tapas, any shyness quickly disappeared and we spent two hours talking, laughing and practising Spanish together.

November arrives, and with it begins a very special time at DIME 🍂🎓
For the fourth consecutive year, we’re welcoming the first internship period of Máster en Formación de Profesores de Español como Lengua Extranjera de la Universidad de Barcelona (UB).
During these weeks, future Spanish teachers observe real ELE classes at DIME, from beginner students taking their first steps in Spanish to intermediate learners already chatting confidently. It’s a valuable opportunity to connect theory with practice and experience what it really means to teach our language.
For us, supporting their learning process is always an enriching experience that reminds us why we love what we do: teaching, sharing, and helping others grow.
We’re happy to have María José and Melisa with us this week and look forward to welcoming new students soon!
