Artykids is a space which provides art workshops for adults and a unique and special art program for kids where they can explore different mediums of art whilst at the same time speaking English. My aim is to provide a positive, comfortable and creative learning environment where children are given the opportunity to experiment with different art mediums and techniques at their own pace, whilst le
arning English. The focus is on exploration and play, on each individual finding their own magical creativity and being able to express it freely. The clases are complete immersion, providing a creative and fun way to learn a new language along side art techniques and processes. Artykids provides a safe environment for your kid to create, play, and enjoy all that art and language has to offer. Artykids has been developed with the aim of providing a fun learning program, a place where children feel safe and relaxed, where they feel free to experiment and explore, and where there are no mistakes. We all learn and absorb so much more when we are happy and relaxed. By taking the focus off the English language as an entity in its self, and providing a natural, safe environment where the language can be used in context, the kids are given the opportunity to open up to learning and exploring language, from communicating what colour paints they would like to use, to explaining what they are making. Art and language are both forms of communication, my hope is to accompany each individual on their journey of self expression and discovery by providing a set of tools which can be used in the way each individual needs.
