Obreal promotes interregional cooperation and dialogue in the Higher Education sector.

Obreal's week in Beijing connected higher education, public policy, digital transformation and territorial development, opening new avenues for cooperation across Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.

At the Global Smart Education Conference (GSE2026), Obreal took part as a member of the Global Smart Education Network, joining a senior policy roundtable on AI, education and development alongside government representatives from Southeast Asia and Africa, UNESCO, the OECD - OCDE and international cooperation agencies.

Together with UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education (UNESCO INRULED) and SEAMEO INNOTECH partners, Obreal co-organised a workshop on Smart Villages and rural education, joining the launch of the "Learning Villages in the Digital Era" initiative as a proposing partner. This same week, a strategic meeting brought together Obreal, UNESCO INRULED, the Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Research of Mauritius, representatives of the Province of Buenos Aires, SEAMEO and the Government of Mongolia to advance a new interregional dialogue on digital transformation, education and territorial development.

The common thread: AI and digital transformation can't be approached as technology agendas alone. Their impact depends on the institutions, policies and communities through which they are implemented, the same principle behind Obreal's AI Incubator.

The week closed with a symposium hosted by the China Association of Higher Education and the Shanghai Association of Higher Education, opening a new conversation on cooperation with Chinese higher education institutions.

HAQAA3 is a complex initiative, and it is not always easy to capture everything it involves. That's why we put together a video that walks through it in just a few minutes.

From academic credit recognition to data for policy and political dialogue among African higher education stakeholders, the video covers the five pillars of this European Union initiative: quality, harmonization, data for policy, academic credits, and political dialogue.

Obreal is implementing HAQAA3 together with the Association of African Universities, the ENQA - European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, and the DAAD.

Tourism drives much of the emissions behind climate change, and is one of the sectors most exposed to it.

Obreal connects research, industry, and policy across regions to build a coordinated response, through cooperation projects and open dialogue spaces.

One example: the CLIMAR project trained 380+ professionals, educators, and researchers, formed 6 multidisciplinary research groups, produced 49 lessons-learned reports, and delivered 1 academic book, across Latin America and Europe.

The 16th African Network for Internationalization of Education - ANIE Annual Conference is taking place October 14-16, 2026, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Obreal is proud to join as an official partner and co-organizer.
