🌱 We’re back!

After a well-deserved summer break filled with rest, nature, and time with loved ones, the Little Forest team is excited to be back and ready for the new school year 🍂

We’ve been busy preparing our spaces and our hearts to welcome your little ones during the important adaptation period. We know transitions can be challenging—for both children and parents—so we’re here to support you every step of the way.

This week, we’re also completing our annual first aid training with Món Pediàtric to ensure we’re always prepared and ready to keep your children safe.

Our doors open on Monday. We can’t wait to see you! 🦊✨

🌳 El aprendizaje no se detiene en las paredes del aula...

En Little Forest Montessori, nuestros niños y niñas están viviendo de cerca la remodelación del parque de nuestro barrio. Cada día, con curiosidad y asombro, observan las máquinas, hacen preguntas y aprenden gracias a la paciencia y el cariño de los trabajadores que les explican todo con una sonrisa.

Queremos dar las gracias al y a por el trato tan cercano y respetuoso que han tenido con nuestros pequeños exploradores. Es un ejemplo precioso de cómo el entorno y la comunidad se convierten en maestros.

También agradecemos a Onorato, de Cuidem Barcelona, que vela para que el parque esté siempre en las mejores condiciones para que los niños puedan jugar seguros. ¡Gracias por cuidar de nuestro barrio!

🌳 Learning doesn't stop at the classroom walls...

At Little Forest Montessori, our children are watching the remodeling of our neighborhood park up close. Every day, with curiosity and wonder, they observe the machines, ask questions, and learn thanks to the patience and warmth of the workers who explain everything with a smile.

We want to thank the and for the kind and respectful way they've treated our little explorers. It's a beautiful example of how the environment and community become teachers themselves.

We're also grateful to Onorato from Cuidem Barcelona, who makes sure the park is always in the best condition for children to play safely. Thank you for taking care of our neighborhood!

Squishy, slippery, and completely mesmerizing — our water bead sensory tray was
a hit this week. 💦💦

Four little friends gathered around a tray of bright blue water
beads, discovering how they feel, how they move, and what happens when tiny
hands try to hold on.

This kind of play might look simple, but it's doing serious work: building focus,
calming the nervous system, and giving children a chance to explore texture
entirely on their own terms.

Some things really are more fun in a group. 🥰

An apple to match. 🍎

Our calendar time got a storybook twist as we paired The Very Hungry Caterpillar with a hands-on days-of-the-week activity — one fruit, one paper plate, one day at a time.

Beyond learning the days of the week, children practiced drawing, color
recognition, and letter formation, all anchored to a story they already love. It's a
simple example of how we weave literacy into everyday moments, rather than
teaching it in isolation.

By Friday, the whole caterpillar's menu was on display. 🦋

Some of our favorite lessons don't happen at a table. 🌳

Extensive outdoor time is one of the things that sets Little Forest apart — sunshine, fresh air, and real exploration, every single day.

That's what real childhood looks like. 🌻

Squeeze, drop, watch it spread. Children explored color and fine motor skills
with pipettes, paint, and big sheets of paper. 💧

Using a pipette takes real concentration — little fingers have to squeeze just right
to draw up the paint and release it exactly where they want. It's a favorite kind of
Montessori work: it looks like art, but it's really an exercise in control, focus, and
hand strength.

The results were as beautiful as the process. 🎨

Nothing says summer at Little Forest like watermelon 🍉 and real knives.

Our children practiced cutting their own watermelon slices — a favorite
practical life activity that builds concentration, coordination, and independence.
Each child worked at their own pace, cutting small pieces onto their own colorful
plate, then sitting in our circle to enjoy the fruits of their work (literally).

It's a small task with a big purpose: when children do real things with real tools, they
learn to trust themselves.

And yes, it was as juicy and delicious as it looks. 🙃

Shake, dig, point, repeat! 🎵

Music is a mix of rhythm and touch — tambourines and maracas in tiny hands, sea creatures buried in the sand tray, and a picture board sparking new words in English.

Every sense engaged is a doorway to learning. Music builds listening skills, sand play builds fine motor control, and naming pictures builds language.

This is what "Montessori with a twist" looks like in practice: purposeful, playful, and never overstimulating.
