The incredible .club partnering with .comuna offered a cake and coffee cupping events in Barcelona.

It was a beautiful opportunity to debut my lemon mastica cake that has delicate citrus 🍋‍🟩 and pine flavours🌳.

And then there was the Persian love cake, the traditional gifts for Kayleigh with sesame and saffron, and then the crowd faite the orange blossom and almond cake 🍊

So happy the guests got to try the whole menu.

Thank you to everyone involved. Now back to the drawing board for new experiments!

Do we live in the most beautiful city in the world?

I love how finding stillness, and sharing what arises when we get there, can create such meaningful connection.

We live in a world that asks us to be disciplined, productive, consistent, and “on” all the time. While those things have their place, I believe it’s just as important to restore. To sit in the sunshine and paint. To be playful. To be still.

My hope with these forest baths is to create a space where we can step out of the constant doing and reconnect with ourselves.

A place to breathe deeply, soak in the birdsong with new friends, feel the oxygen-rich air fill our lungs, and gather in community.

A place where we can express ourselves authentically, feel safe enough to soften, and listen to the parts of us that may have been bracing for impact or running on empty.

Another beautiful forest bath happened this morning. Each gathering brings different invitations, but what remains the same is the opportunity to quiet the mind, open the heart, and remember that rest, presence, and joy are not luxuries, they’re a deep source of strength and empowerment.

The cooler weather is almost over. 🌬️ 🍃

As beautiful Barcelona eases into summer heat, we have one last early morning forest bath on Sunday morning 31st of May.

• Italian cypress •

As we stand beneath this Italian cypress, we connect to its quiet wisdom.

Originally a symbol of immortality in ancient Mediterranean cultures, cypress trees traveled from Italy to Spain, gracing royal gardens with grace and intention.

Its slender form reaches skyward, a beacon of resilience.

The resin from this tree has long been used in traditional medicine, calming nerves and opening the heart.

The small pods hanging from its branches release fine pollen that whispers of renewal.

And so, as we meditate beneath this tree, we invite a stillness that echoes eternity.

A reminder that, like this tree, we too can grow strong, rooted, and calm, even in life’s changing winds.

• white floss silk tree •

There’s a white floss silk tree standing near Drassanes right where ships once came and went, carrying pieces of the world into Barcelona.

This tree didn’t start here. It comes from South America, places like Argentina and Brazil. Most likely, it arrived the same way everything once did in this part of the city: by ship. Brought over as something exotic, something beautiful, something worth planting far from home.

And somehow, it adapted.

The white floss silk tree is known for its contrast—its trunk covered in sharp thorns, and its flowers soft, light, almost delicate. Symbolically, it’s a tree of protection and openness at the same time. Boundaries and beauty. Strength and vulnerability coexisting.

Spiritually, it’s often associated with resilience and transformation. The thorns represent protection—holding your ground, knowing your limits. The flowers represent expression—still choosing to open up, to create, to be seen.

If you sit under it and slow down, it has a very grounding kind of presence. Not heavy, but steady. A good place to reset.

Meditating there, the “benefits” aren’t dramatic—they’re subtle:
– feeling more centered
– letting your guard down just enough
– reconnecting with your own rhythm instead of the city’s

It’s the kind of tree that reminds you that you can be both protected and open at the same time. That you don’t have to lose one to have the other.

A traveler that stayed. A contradiction that works.

And maybe that’s why it fits here after all.
