And today we’re introducing , a dance artist from Scotland, who will also be joining us in our Easter Camp next week! 🐣

Tara graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance with a BA in Performing Arts Dance over 20 years ago and her passion has taken her to places such as China, Canada, New York, Budapest, Dusseldorf and Hasselt.

She now lives in Barcelona where she acts, works in hair art, teaches English to young learners and continues to choreograph dance pieces 🎭🦄🕺

In her free time she loves walking dogs, doing yoga, being in nature and creating new ideas!

She loves inspiring children and adults to express their inner emotions through creative movement and we know she’s going to be an amazing addition to our team this Easter!

Let’s welcome , one of our lovely teachers who’ll be joining us for this year’s Easter Camp 🐣

Caitlín is a socially engaged artist from Ireland currently studying a BA in Fine Art with Contemporary Cultural Theory at the University of Leeds whose work explores intuitive and expressive mark making, visual languages and facilitating connections.

She has previously worked as an English and Arts assistant teacher in primary schools across Barcelona and has an abundance of experience hosting art workshops, teaching english as a foreign language and managing kids summer camps.

She is fully qualified in teaching English as a foreign language with a TEFL certificate that she obtained from UIC (Universidad Internacional de Cataluña).

In her free time she loves to travel, explore, practise new languages, swim in the sea, discover new music and get involved with nature and is really excited to place her creativity into a different context and work with our students at our Easter Camp!

We can’t wait to have you on board 🤩

We’ve been experimenting with all types of breathing props over the last few weeks and party streamers were a big hit!! 🥳

A few of our other faves include feathers 🪶 bubbles 🫧 balloons 🎈and even rubber gloves 🧤

And this doesn’t just have to happen in a yoga class… you can try these at home with your little one too.

Rubbing our bellies and patting our heads… WHY (you might ask) were we doing this?!! 🤔

Let me tell you why… apart from it being a fun little brain break, this activity helps children develop their coordination skills which can actually help improve their ability to COMMUNICATE, LEARN LANGUAGE and READ and WRITE 🤯

Mind blown? I was too when I found out!

Anyway it turns out that physical movement, especially activities that require coordination, helps develop neural pathways in the brain 🧠 and these pathways support various cognitive functions such as language processing and memory!

So although it may not be obvious, there’s always a reason behind what we do in our classes… and it’s ALWAYS for the benefit of our students 💛

Our classes aren’t just for girls! Boys love them too! 💪💃

One of my favorite memories is of a little boy that came to our Easter Camp last year dressed in his red and navy football kit… I remember loving the idea that a kid can be into football AND the artsy stuff that we do too! ⚽️🎨🧘‍♀️🤩

At such a young age, it’s important that we give children the opportunity to explore as much as they can and let them embrace their passions without limitations! Let’s break down gender stereotypes from day 1 🚹🚺

So if you have a little boy and you’re wondering whether or not he’ll enjoy what we have to offer… bring him along and I’m sure you’ll be surprised!

Inversions for kids… what and more importantly WHY?

In the yogi world, we know inversions to be any pose in which our head is placed below our heart or hips… “inverting” our body from its usual upright position 🤸‍♀️

And the benefits are COUNTLESS! To name just a few, they help…

✨ improve circulation and brain activity

✨ improve immunity

✨ give the heart a break

✨ stimulate the nervous system

✨ aid with digestion

✨ calm the mind yet energize the body

And this is just from one single pose! It honestly blew my mind when I learned about so many of the other benefits yoga provides for children.

So if your kids aren’t on the yoga bandwagon yet… get them on it now!

Yesterday we did our last class of the year… and it got me thinking about what a blast we’ve had this year…

Honestly, since starting this project I ALWAYS feel like I could be doing more… but looking back at what we’ve done this year I realise that we haven’t stopped!

Here’s a little recap of 2023 with Aria 🥰✨

#1 joined us to kick of the year with our weekly classes back at 🧸

#2/3 Our incredible Easter Camp with That week flew by and remember feeling so lost once it was over… I just wanted to do it all again! 🐣

#4/5 The launch of our party in the park service and subsequent fun times celebrating the birthdays of some of our lovely little yogis 🎉

#6 Collaboration with offering our programme as part of their after-school activities! A HUGE highlight for me! 🎓

#7/8 Our beautiful yoga & picnic in the park event where we raised over €100 for the street cats and dogs of BCN 😻

#9 Halloween workshop with the amazing at 👻

#… I don’t have any photos to show you but back in November we started a parent and toddler group at which has been an incredible learning opportunity! 👶

#10 Ending the year with fun at our Frozen themed workshops in the beautiful and our beloved ❄️

Thank you SO much to everyone that has been a part of this project… whether you’re a customer, a teacher, a studio owner, a collaborator or a friend who’s always there listening and giving me advice… you don’t know how much you mean to me 🤗
