Qigong, this morning. This class has been held in Aljariz for many years. It is interesting to note that I learned this programme from a Karate-ka called Danny Conners, alas no longer with us. He had just returned from Beijing China, in the early 70's, where he had trained intensively in the Art. A former karate exponent, Wado ryu I beleive, fell in love with the whole Taiji-Qigong package. I got interested in the health in the martial art division and used it for that purpose, however I have remained a Karate-ka.

Confession time! I just find it hard being a digit of a machine.
It was a close ally of mine, Lord Donald Brownie-Marshall, who advised using this medium on a regular basis. Failed miserably. However all is not lost, a new term, a new beginning. Over a period of some 50 years, involving myself within the Martial Arts mainly, it became quite apparent the roll the body plays in our lives. Not merely as a vehicle for our mind, but as the centre of our very being.
What has this to do with Ageless Agility I hear you ask. Well, along the way I learned stuff! And guess what, if you use the body in a certain way, especially with regard to maintaining health, something special happens.
This is the basis of the Ageless Agility programme. A sophisticated method of sequential movement that will enhance the quality of life. So that's it in a nutshell, if you are wanting to be pain free without any strain, or maybe it is to reverse the aging process. Perhaps even reclaim child-like vitality, and even be your own gym without costly machines, then you have got to check out Ageless Agility. You know what to do.

Exercise can make your brain a decade younger than your calendar age. It's official, exercise improves memory and cognition, and helps stave off dementia. Strength training, working your legs in particular, has been shown to have a particularly strong impact on brain function and memory. Engaging in medium to high intensity exercise can slow down brain ageing by as much as 10 years. Exercise, also helps dispel depression, in many cases more effectively than antidepressants,
whilst purging your body of stress chemicals associated with depression. O.K. so we may be living the dream here in Southern Spain, but we should not neglect the fact that we are ageing. Let's do it gracefully. The secret of life is movement. So move more, move better and slow down that ageing process.

So it is business as usual. The summer recess is no more. With a significant change in temperature, it will allow us to resume the classes.
The blend of movement that we practice allows us to move more and move better, and with the emphasis on exercising less. Neat philosophy eh!

It has been in the last twenty years or so that the interest of most advanced societies, in developing methods of physical exercise, has become as never before a vogue, a fashion, influencing the mood and the taste of the whole culture. Today, the emphasis tends to be towards physical performance, and considers the human organism like a machine. Our body is not a machine that needs to puff, sweat get over-heated and exhausted all as part of a high performance.
Our problem is that we are not a machine but an organism, and simple analogies between them are destined to miss the point. As a living organism, our body is an integrity, and its optimum functioning can only be measured, not in terms of performance, like the machine, but it terms of health, as an organism
