💙🧘‍♀️Welcoming our staff back for a new school year, and what a great start to our training programme!

This week, we were delighted to welcome visiting trainers from the UK to King’s College School Alicante for ASIST (Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training).

Investing in the training and development of our staff is an important part of creating a supportive environment where our community feels confident, equipped and ready to support one another. 🤝

🎉🏆 IGCSE2026 | Outstanding IGCSE results at King’s College School Alicante.

Congratulations to the King’s College School Alicante Class of 2026 on their outstanding IGCSE results! These achievements highlight the ambition and dedication of our students, the expertise of our teachers, and the continued support of our families and wider school community.

📊 This year, 42% of grades were awarded at A*, 58% at A*–A and 74% at A*–B, demonstrating another strong year of academic achievement at King’s College School Alicante.

As Simon Wicks, Executive Head of King’s College School Alicante, shared:

“We are incredibly proud of our students and their outstanding IGCSE results. Achieving a 95% pass rate is exceptional by any standard, while almost 60% of all grades were awarded at A*–A. These results reflect the hard work and ambition of our students, the expertise and commitment of our teachers, and the invaluable support of our families.

Our students are now exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their education, with the opportunity to choose between A-Levels or the IB Diploma Programme as part of our Sixth Form offering. Whichever route they choose, they will be prepared to pursue their ambitions at leading universities in Spain and around the world.”

IBDP 2026 | 🎓 Be King's. Be World Ready. Celebrating more outstanding IB success stories. ✨

Today, we are proud to celebrate the achievements of Sofia M. (41 points), Konstancja D. (40 points) and Natalia F. (40 points), whose excellent results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme are opening the door to exciting opportunities at leading universities across Europe.

Their next steps reflect the ambition and international outlook that define King's College School Alicante. Sofia will study Computer Science & Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Konstancja will pursue a double degree in International and Spanish Law at Maastricht University and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Natalia will begin a degree in Aerospace Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).

Looking back on their time at King's College School Alicante, each student reflects on the experiences that shaped their journey. Sofia remembers Sixth Form as the place where she truly experienced the warmth of the school community and realised how much she will miss it. Konstancja describes the IB as a demanding yet incredibly rewarding experience, made special by the inspiring teachers and friends who supported her throughout. Natalia highlights the constant encouragement to strive for academic excellence while enjoying every step of the journey alongside her teachers and classmates.

As we continue celebrating the Class of 2026, we are proud not only of these three students, but of every member of this exceptional cohort. Their dedication, resilience and achievements continue to inspire our entire school community.

Today, we are proud to celebrate the achievements of Rosa J. (43 points), Helena H. (40 points), Grace C. (40 points), Olga S. (40 points), Pilar A.S. (40 points) and Haochen W. (39 points), whose outstanding results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme are opening doors to exciting opportunities around the world.

Their next steps reflect the ambition and international outlook that define King's College School Alicante, with students progressing to some of the world's leading universities. Rosa will pursue Economics in Pennsylvania, USA; Helena will study Engineering at Cornell University; Grace will read Biochemistry at King's College London; Olga will study Creative Arts & Humanities at UCL; Pilar will begin Economics and Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid; and Haochen will study Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of California, San Diego.

Reflecting on their time at King's College School Alicante, one message stands out: the IB has been far more than an academic qualification. It has challenged them to think critically, become more independent learners and develop the resilience and confidence to embrace new opportunities. Throughout that journey, the unwavering support of their teachers and the Sixth Form team has played a vital role in helping them achieve their goals.

While today we are highlighting these six remarkable students, we also celebrate the achievements of the entire IB Class of 2026. Every member of the cohort has contributed to another exceptional year for King's College School Alicante, making our whole school community incredibly proud.

We look forward to seeing all that our graduates go on to achieve.

Proud to have achieved the SEND Inclusion Award! 🏅✨

We are thrilled to share that at King’s College School Alicante has successfully completed our second renewal of the SENDIA (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Inclusion Award), securing this prestigious recognition for a further three years.

This award recognises schools that demonstrate outstanding inclusive practice and a sustained commitment to supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The verifier’s report highlighted that inclusion at our school stands out due to highly effective strategic leadership, a successfully restructured SEND department and extensive staff training. Furthermore, our success is driven by robust progress monitoring systems, strong partnerships that value pupil and parent voice and consistent efforts to remove barriers to learning so all pupils can access every opportunity.

The report also praised our inclusive culture, highlighting the high aspirations of our staff and the collective commitment to ensuring every learner receives the support they need to thrive.
