Want rice in Alicante without ordering the same dish as everyone else?
Alicante is a city where rice is never just rice. It is part of the landscape, the lunch plan, the conversation and, quite often, a very good reason to stop walking for a while.
There is only one small issue for many visitors: traditional rice restaurants often expect you to order one large dish for the whole table. That can be great when everyone wants the same thing. It is less great when one person wants seafood, another wants something vegetarian and someone is travelling alone but has a serious rice craving.
At Rice & Bones, the rule is different: you only share rice if you want to.
Individual rice dishes in the centre of Alicante
Our rice dishes are designed for one person. You can come alone, as a couple, with friends or with a group where nobody agrees on anything except that lunch is overdue.
Each guest chooses their own rice and their preferred finish. Dry rice for those who like separate grains and a more direct texture. Meloso rice for a softer, brothier experience. Or mantecado rice for a creamier, more intense style.
This does not mean that eating rice becomes less social. Quite the opposite. You still share the table, the recommendations and the arguments about who ordered best. You simply do not have to share the same dish because an old rule says so.
A modern way to eat a Mediterranean classic
Rice & Bones is located at Calle Castaños, 36, in central Alicante. The experience is built for the way people travel now: you may have a beach afternoon ahead, a museum visit, a train to catch, or simply no interest in organising lunch like a committee meeting.
You can view the menu, place your order and pay digitally. If you have questions, the team is there to help. Digital ordering is meant to remove unnecessary waiting, not replace human hospitality.
The full menu is designed gluten-free, so guests who need to avoid gluten do not have to settle for a limited version of the experience.
