QUÉ… it means “what”, right? Yes… BUT 👀

Spanish has loads of everyday expressions that start with QUÉ, and translating them literally won’t always help you!

🇪🇸 Qué raro — That’s weird
😱 Qué susto — That scared me! / What a fright!
🤢 Qué asco — Ew! / Gross!
😳 Qué vergüenza — How embarrassing!
😔 Qué pena — That’s a shame

Por can translate to a few different things: 𝘍𝘰𝘳, 𝘣𝘺, 𝘷𝘪𝘢, 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩...

But don’t get too hung up on translating it literally or memorising rules👀

It’s much more useful to learn the everyday phrases Spanish speakers actually use.

Learn them as chunks and they’ll start to come out much more naturally when you speak 🇪🇸
