Impossible de passer à Paris sans aller faire un petit tour chez Tzuri Gueta, dans son atelier-boutique du Viaduc des Arts, pour le voir… et surtout admirer ses toutes dernières créations !

Tzuri est à la fois designer textile et créateur de bijoux, connu pour son incroyable travail autour du silicone et ses collaborations avec de grandes maisons de Haute Couture comme Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Thierry Mugler ou Balmain.

Autant vous dire qu’entourée de toutes ces merveilles, ma volonté n’a pas tenu très longtemps… J’ai craqué ! 😂❤️

I simply couldn’t be in Paris without stopping by Tzuri Gueta’s studio-boutique at the Viaduc des Arts to see him… and, of course, admire his latest creations!

Tzuri is both a textile designer and jewelry designer, renowned for his extraordinary work with silicone and his collaborations with major French Haute Couture houses including Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Thierry Mugler and Balmain.

Needless to say, surrounded by all those gorgeous creations, my willpower didn’t last very long… I gave in! 😂❤️

“Quitter” is followed by a direct object.
Quitter is used mostly in 3 specific situations:
- quitter son mari = to leave (break up with) your husband, your lover.
Je te quitte = I am breaking up with you.
- you can also quit a job, or quit a place forever = “quitter un travail, quitter un pays”.
- in the phone expression “ne quittez pas” to say ‘hold on’.
But watch out, we say “arrêter de fumer” (to quit smoking) – not “quitter”.

We have many verbs to translate the notion of "to leave" in French based on the context, and they are, unfortunately, not interchangeable.

Vous connaissez l’expression « Quand le chat est parti, les souris dansent » ? 🐭🐱💃🏿🕺

Après le départ de mon étudiante Jules, je l’ai prise presque au pied de la lettre : direction le Galian Dub Festival, à Botmeur, au cœur des Monts d’Arrée !

Le dub, c’est un cousin du reggae, avec des basses profondes qui vous traversent tout le corps… Une ambiance incroyable, pleine de bonnes vibrations, et nous avons dansé jusqu’à 3 heures du matin !

La preuve qu’après une semaine d’immersion bien remplie, la prof sait aussi refermer ses cahiers et aller faire la fête !

After my student Jules left, I took it almost literally and headed to the Galian Dub Festival in Botmeur, in the heart of Brittany’s Monts d’Arrée!

Dub is closely related to reggae, with deep bass rhythms that you can feel throughout your whole body… The atmosphere was incredible, full of good vibes, and we danced until 3 a.m.!

Proof that after a busy week of French immersion, the teacher can also close her books and go out dancing!

Pour clôturer le séjour de Jules en beauté : un parcours de golf avec Jean-Loup au Golf de Boisgelin ⛳️

À seulement 10 minutes en voiture de chez moi, le Golf de Boisgelin est installé dans un superbe domaine breton, avec un parcours vallonné, des arbres magnifiques, des étangs et le château en toile de fond. Un très joli cadre pour passer quelques heures au vert !

Et pas besoin de voyager avec tout votre matériel : il est possible de louer des clubs sur place.

C’est aussi ça, une immersion chez moi : découvrir la Bretagne en français, mais en fonction de ce que vous aimez vraiment faire. Si vous êtes golfeur, nous pouvons prévoir une partie. Et si vous voyagez avec un partenaire qui joue au golf mais ne suit pas les cours de français, Boisgelin est juste à côté.

Alors, qui serait tenté par une immersion en Bretagne avec une petite partie de golf au programme ? 😉

Just a 10-minute drive from my home, Golf de Boisgelin is set in a beautiful Breton estate, with a rolling course, gorgeous trees, ponds and the château as a backdrop. A lovely place to spend a few hours out on the green!

And there’s no need to travel with all your equipment: golf clubs can be rented on site.

That’s also what an immersion stay with me is about: discovering Brittany in French, while adapting the experience to the things you genuinely enjoy. If you play golf, we can plan a round. And if you’re travelling with a partner who loves golf but isn’t taking French lessons, Boisgelin is right nearby.

It makes grosse(s) (pronounced groS with a pronounced s) in the feminine and comes before the noun.
Je voudrais un gros morceau: I’d like a big piece
J’ai peur des gros chiens: I’m afraid of big dogs
Cet homme est trop gros pour son pantalon: this man is too big, large, fat for his pants.

How would you say "she is big"? The translation could be tricky...
