Between 7th and 10th November, English teachers and adult learners from Estonia, Greece, Spain and the United Kingdom attended the fourth transnational meeting of the European project INTEALE (INTernational Exchange on Adult Language Education), held in Brighton and Hove, (United Kingdom). This project, co-funded by the European Commission through the Lifelong Learning Programme, aims to contribute to improving the quality, accessibility and attractiveness of adult language learning, in particular for adults from disadvantaged social groups, as languages are valuable skills on the labour market.

In order to achieve these objectives, during the 4-day meeting, teachers and adult learners got the opportunity to present the results of the various local activities which took place in their respective countries. Also, local adult learners from Interactive English Language School (UK) presented the host organisation and its good practice in the field of adult language learning. During the second part of the meeting, adult learners and teachers from each organisation visited the facilities and on-going activities of the host organisation. Finally, all the participants took part in the International Exhibition Event during which adult learners from each country presented to the others their culture, food and traditions.

While waiting to meet again, all partner organisations will work at local level with adult learners and teachers, in order to allow them to experience and evaluate the best practice in adult language learning shared by the British partner. As a result, adult learners and teachers will be able to conclude with a series of recommendations on how to improve this practice and facilitate its transferability to other countries.

Its aim is to contribute to improving the quality, accessibility and attractiveness of adult language learning, in particular for adults from disadvantaged social groups, as languages are valuable skills on the labour market.
