Come As You Are, Nirvana
Released in 1992, Come As You Are became one of Nirvana’s most recognizable songs. Its dark, hypnotic opening riff is instantly recognizable and remains one of the defining guitar parts of the grunge era.

Played here on acoustic guitar, giving this legendary riff a warmer and more organic character while keeping its unmistakable atmosphere.

No talking this time. I just played.

Honestly, the new TONEX Board kind of speaks for itself. Every amp, every effect, everything you’re hearing came out of this one box. No amp in the room, no pedalboard.

The part that still gets me is running two completely different amps at the same time, jumping from clean to rhythm to lead with zero gaps, and then turning the whole thing into a regular pedalboard whenever I feel like it. That TONEX sound I’ve loved for years, now with a full live rig built around it.

Every sound in this one came straight from the Board. One guitar, one box.

The amp behind a generation of punk rock. 🔥🎸

When Green Day recorded Dookie in 1994, Billie Joe Armstrong found his sound through a Marshall 1959SLP. He later had his own 1959SLP modified to recreate that unmistakable tone on tour, giving birth to what became known as the Dookie Mod.

More gain, more punch, but still with that aggressive Marshall clarity that helped define Green Day’s sound and an entire era of modern punk rock.

And now, more than 30 years later, that sound is finally available as an official Marshall amp: the 1959BJA Billie Joe Armstrong Artist Signature.

The Dookie tone, straight from Marshall. 🤘

This might be the most famous chord progression in the world. 🎸

It comes from Pachelbel’s Canon in D, written more than 300 years ago, and its harmony has influenced countless songs ever since.

In D major, the progression is:

D – A – Bm – F – G – D – G – A
I – V – vi – iii – IV – I – IV – V

Still Loving You, Scorpions
Released in 1984, Still Loving You became one of Scorpions’ most iconic power ballads. Its emotional guitar intro builds the atmosphere from the very first notes, before the song grows into one of the great rock ballads of the 80s.

That combination of clean guitar, melody and emotion makes this intro instantly recognizable and incredibly satisfying to play. 🎸
