This week on the we’ve been exploring what English learning goals we have, and if/how they fit into the view that English serves as a global language. Proponents of English as a Lingua Franca argue that intelligibility is often more important than accuracy, but how well does that fit your goals as a learner? The C2 Development Course is only getting started, and there’s still time to join this exploration of real, authentic C2 English.

Here are a few other things you might not know about me:

🗣️Since 2015 I’ve been giving regular talks and workshops at conferences for teachers.

🚲I love indoor cycling, and would do it every day if I could.

🐺🦁I’m a dog AND a cat person.

🚀I’m a huge fan of sci-fi and horror.

🪜I’m only 1.64 metres tall, but I think height is overrated.
