Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, extended his sincere congratulations to Youssef Girgis Rizk, a fourth-year student in the Petroleum Engineering Department at the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, on the occasion of winning third place in the 2026 SPE Middle East and North Africa Regional Student Paper Contest.

The competition witnessed broad participation from university students across the Middle East and North Africa specializing in petroleum and energy engineering. Youssef presented a research paper entitled:

“Pressure-Normalized Rate (PNR) Decline Curve Analysis: Theoretical Foundations and Future Automation.”

The President of the University expressed his pride in this achievement, which reflects the excellence and distinction of Suez University students. طلاب جامعة السويس يتألقون في مؤتمر IADC العالمي بالبرتغال

برعاية أ.د.أشــــــــــرف حنيجــــــــــل رئيـــــس جامعـــــة السويـــــس شارك فرع الطلاب IADC Suez University Student Chapter بكلية هندسة البترول والتعدين بجامعة السويس في فعاليات مؤتمر ومعرض IADC World Drilling 2026 العالمي، الذي أقيم بمدينة إستوريل بالبرتغال يومي ١٦ و ١٧ يونيو الجاري.

هذا وقد مثّل الجامعة الطالب أحمد السيد مباشر (الفرقة الثالثة – قسم هندسة البترول)، والمهندس ماجد الأحمدي (خريج 2024 – قسم هندسة البترول)، حيث أتيحت لهما فرصة الاطلاع على أحدث تقنيات الحفر العالمية، والمشاركة في جلسات نقاشية وتقنية رفيعة المستوى، إلى جانب التفاعل مع فروع طلابية من جامعات مرموقة مثل MIT (أمريكا)، KFUPM (السعودية)، وUTP (ماليزيا).

هذا وقد صرح "أ.د. رئيس جامعة السويس" أنه لا يكتفي بتقديم تعليم أكاديمي متميز داخل أسوار الجامعة فحسب، بل يسعى لفتح نوافذ عالمية لطلابها ليكونوا سفراء لمصر والجامعة في الخارج. مثل هذه المشاركات الدولية تسهم في رفع تصنيف الجامعة وبناء جيل من الخريجين يمتلك المهارات والخبرات التي تتماشى مع رؤية مصر والتطور التكنولوجي المتسارع عالمياً.

Suez University Students Shine at the Global IADC Conference in Portugal

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, the IADC Suez University Student Chapter participated in the IADC World Drilling 2026 Conference and Exhibition, held in Estoril, Portugal, on June 16–17, 2026.

Representing the university at this prestigious international event were Ahmed El-Sayed Mobasher, a third-year Petroleum Engineering student, and Engineer Maged Al-Ahmadi, a 2024 graduate of the Petroleum Engineering Department. The conference provided them with a valuable opportunity to explore the latest global drilling technologies, participate in high-level technical and discussion sessions, and engage with student chapters from internationally renowned universities, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia, and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in Malaysia.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, stated that the university’s mission extends beyond providing distinguished academic education within its campus. It also seeks to open global horizons for its students, enabling them to serve as ambassadors for both Egypt and the university on the international stage. Suez University Participates in the START 2026 Summit to Enhance Youth Readiness for the Labor Market

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Osama Kaddour, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Suez University participated in the activities of the START 2026 Summit, which was held at the Grand Egyptian Museum. The summit was organized under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, with the participation of public, private, and technological universities from across Egypt.

Suez University had a distinguished presence at the summit, with more than 200 students from various faculties taking part in the event. في إطار ظهور نتائج مختلف التصنيفات الدولية للجامعات، أعلن أ.د. أشــــــــــرف حنيجــــــــــل رئيـــــس جامعـــــة السويـــــس عن استمرار الجامعة في الحفاظ على مكانتها المرموقة ضمن أفضل جامعات العالم، وذلك وفق نتائج تصنيف CWUR 2026 العالمي، حيث جاءت الجامعة في المرتبة 1890 عالميًا ضمن قائمة Global 2000 التي تضم أفضل 2000 جامعة على مستوى العالم، متقدمة مركزًا واحدًا مقارنة بإصدار عام 2025.

وعلى المستوى المحلي، حافظت جامعة السويس على المرتبة 19 بين الجامعات المصرية للعام الثاني على التوالي، وهو ما يعكس استقرار أدائها الأكاديمي والبحثي وقدرتها على المنافسة بين مؤسسات التعليم العالي المصرية.

As the results of various international university rankings continue to be released, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, announced that the university has maintained its distinguished position among the world’s leading universities, according to the 2026 CWUR World University Rankings. Suez University ranked 1,890th globally in the Global 2000 list, which includes the top 2,000 universities worldwide, advancing by one position compared to the 2025 edition.

At the national level, Suez University retained its 19th place among Egyptian universities for the second consecutive year, reflecting the stability of its academic and research performance and its ability to compete effectively among Egypt’s higher education institutions.

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) is considered one of the most prominent international ranking systems, relying on objective indicators that include the quality of education, graduate employability, faculty quality, and research performance, without depending on surveys or data submitted directly by universities. The 2026 edition evaluated 21,291 higher education institutions worldwide, with only an elite group of universities earning a place in the Global 2000 list.

في إطار حرص جامعة السويس على إعداد وتأهيل الكوادر الأكاديمية لتولي المناصب القيادية داخل الكليات، نظم مركز تنمية قدرات أعضاء هيئة التدريس دورة تدريبية مخصصة للسادة أعضاء هيئة التدريس الراغبين في الترشح لمناصب عميد كلية، وكيل كلية، رئيس قسم، وأعضاء الجهاز الإداري بالجامعة الراغبين في الترشح لمنصب أمين كلية.

جاءت الدورة برعاية وحضور أ.د. أ.د. أشــــــــــرف حنيجــــــــــل رئيس جامعة السويس، استهلت فعاليات الدورة بمحاضرة هامة عن دور هيئة الرقابة الإدارية ومكافحة الفساد، ألقاها كل من:
- اللواء علاء المصري نائب رئيس الأكاديمية الوطنية لمكافحة الفساد.
- اللواء محمد طلعت رئيس مكتب هيئة الرقابة الإدارية بالسويس.

حضر فعاليات الافتتاح السادة أ.د. عزالدين حسيني جاد نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون التعليم والطلاب، أ.د. شريف فهمي القائم بأعمال نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون الدراسات العليا والبحوث، أ.د. أسامة مسعود نائب رئيس جامعة السويس الأهلية للشئون الأكاديمية، أ.د. أسامة قدور القائم بأعمال نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، أ.د. إيهاب شحاتة مدير مركز تنمية قدرات أعضاء هيئة التدريس، الذي أكد أن الهدف الأساسي هو تعزيز مهارات القيادة والإدارة لدى أعضاء هيئة التدريس بما يتماشى مع متطلبات المرحلة الحالية.

هذا وقد أكد أ.د. أشــــــــــرف حنيجــــــــــل رئيـــــس الجامعـــــة أن تنظيم هذه الدورة التدريبية يأتي في إطار استراتيجية الجامعة لإعداد قيادات أكاديمية قادرة على تحمل المسؤولية، مشيرًا إلى أن الجامعة تولي اهتمامًا كبيرًا بتأهيل أعضاء هيئة التدريس الراغبين في الترشح للمناصب القيادية، بما يضمن استمرارية التطوير المؤسسي. وأضاف أن إدراج موضوع مكافحة الفساد في البرنامج التدريبي يعكس التزام الجامعة بنشر قيم النزاهة والشفافية، وتعزيز دور القيادات الجامعية في بناء بيئة تعليمية قائمة على العدالة والمساءلة.

وقد تناولت المحاضرة أهمية ترسيخ قيم النزاهة والشفافية داخل المؤسسات التعليمية، ودور القيادات الجامعية في نشر ثقافة مكافحة الفساد، بما يضمن بيئة أكاديمية صحية قائمة على العدالة والمساءلة، تأهيل القيادات الأكاديمية،

كما تناول التدريب تزويد أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالمهارات اللازمة لإدارة الكليات والأقسام بكفاءة. تعزيز النزاهة ونشر الوعي بمخاطر الفساد وآليات مواجهته داخل المؤسسات التعليمية. وتنمية القدرات الإدارية، تدريب المشاركين على أساليب التخطيط الاستراتيجي واتخاذ القرار. بناء ثقافة مؤسسية، ترسيخ قيم العمل الجماعي والمسؤولية المجتمعية.

Suez University Launches Comprehensive Program for University Leadership Development and Anti-Corruption Awareness

As part of its commitment to preparing and qualifying academic staff for leadership positions within its faculties, Suez University organized a specialized training program through the Faculty and Leadership Development Center. The program was designed for faculty members seeking nomination for leadership positions, including Dean, Vice Dean, and Head of Department, as well as administrative staff interested in applying for the position of Faculty Secretary.

The training program was held under the patronage and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University. The event commenced with an important lecture on the role of the Administrative Control Authority and anti-corruption efforts, delivered by:

Major General Alaa El-Masry, Vice President of the National Anti-Corruption Academy.
Major General Mohamed Talaat, Head of the Administrative Control Authority Office in Suez.

The opening session was attended by Prof. Dr. Ezzeldin Hosseini Gad, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Dr. Sherif Fahmy, Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Dr. Osama Massoud, Vice President of Suez National University for Academic Affairs; Prof. Dr. Osama Kaddour, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Dr. Ehab Shehata, Director of the Faculty and Leadership Development Center.

Prof. Dr. Ehab Shehata emphasized that the primary objective of the program is to strengthen leadership and administrative skills among faculty members in line with the demands of the current academic environment.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, affirmed that organizing this training program is part of the university’s broader strategy to prepare academic leaders capable of assuming responsibility and contributing effectively to institutional development. He noted that the university places great importance on qualifying faculty members aspiring to leadership positions, ensuring the continuity of institutional excellence and advancement.

He further explained that incorporating anti-corruption topics into the training curriculum reflects the university’s commitment to promoting integrity, transparency, and ethical governance, while reinforcing the role of university leaders in building an educational environment founded on justice, accountability, and equal opportunity.

The lecture highlighted the importance of embedding the values of integrity and transparency within educational institutions and emphasized the responsibility of university leaders in fostering a culture of anti-corruption. Such efforts contribute to creating a healthy academic environment based on fairness and accountability while preparing effective academic leaders for the future.

The training program also focused on:

Equipping faculty members with the skills necessary to manage faculties and academic departments efficiently.
Promoting integrity and raising awareness of the risks of corruption and the mechanisms for combating it within educational institutions.
Developing administrative competencies through training in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Building a strong institutional culture rooted in teamwork, social responsibility, and community engagement.
