History of blood cells and anemia discovery ;

The discovery of red cells and iron deficiency was a collaboration of scientists :

1-Anthony van Leeuwenhoeck’s (1632–1723) who first described different cells in blood including RBCs.

2-The German biochemist Felix Hoppe-Seyler (1825–1895)showed, by absorption spectrometry, that haemoglobin is acomplex of haematin and protein.

Techniques for counting red blood cells (RBCs) existed long before blood films could be stained and studied in detail.
In contrast, the accurate measurement of haemoglobin levels was a twentieth-century development. This may explain why it took so long to recognize that the reason of anaemia is iron insufficiency or haemoglobin abnormalities.

3-Helen Mackay studied young children in East London in the 1920s to determine ‘normal’ haemoglobin values for different stages of infancy. Mackay’s studies established the pattern of haemoglobin change in early infancy and demonstrated the nutritional vulnerability of premature infants.

4-James Bryan Herrick was an American physician and professor of medicine. He is credited with the description of sickle-cell disease causing hemolytic anaemia.

Nobel community celebrates the birth of the Egyptian astounding scientist Dr. Ahmed Zweil💖🎉🎊

Remembering femtochemistry founder, Ahmed Zewail, who was born on this day in 1946.

In the late 1980s Nobel Prize laureate Zewail developed methods for studying chemical reactions in detail. Chemical reactions in which molecules held together by atoms meet and reorganise into new compounds are one of nature's most fundamental processes.

However this transition happens too quickly for us to easily see - in a matter of femtoseconds. One femtosecond is 0.000000000000001 seconds, which is to a second as a second is to 32 million years.

By using laser technology to produce flashes of light just a few femtoseconds long, Zewail was able to visualise these reactions in slow motion - and to see what actually happens when chemical bonds break and new ones are created.

طيب عمرك فكرت إيه هو فقدان الذاكرة أو واحد من أسبابه وهو الزهايمر 🤔🙄
طب يا ترى هل ليه علاج وإيه آخر التطورات عن المرض 😐
في الحقيقة العلماء اكتشفوا بروتين مرضي اسمه تاو (متاخد من حرف لاتيني على فكرة 😅) ولقوا إنه سبب مشاكل كتير كل ده وأكتر في مقالنا الشهر ده 😁🙏🌹

Nowadays, many problems worldwide affect our reality. Science faces an issue of credibility loss and being non-veritable. Nevertheless, science is based on the best available data scientists do have. Uncertainty leads the scence progressing to the un-known. Actually, that never causes harm to society, but it helps its ability to evolve. And we should know how Indispensable it is so as to deal with it for the best of human kind. In order to remove people's fears of something we must share healthy and true ideas with them.

The article gives glimpse about scientific uncertainty and its indispensable effects on society. It helps to enhance the awareness of ordinary people about recent scientific advances to maintain the trust in science.

اليوم نصل إلى نهاية أسبوع نوبل. العاشر من ديسمبر يمثل تاريخ وفاة ألفريد نوبل. كما يمثل أيضًا اليوم الذى نحتفي فيه بأولئك الذين حققوا الأفضل للبشرية. ولأننا نؤمن بأن مثل هذه الأحداث يجب أن تنتشر على نطاق واسع وأن يكون الناس على دراية بالتقدم العالمي.
