The countdown has begun!

In less than a month, the 2026 Othering and Belonging Conference will be in Louisville. During the breakout blocks on October 9 and 10, we are offering 18 interactive breakout sessions that will take some of the biggest questions at and turn them into 90 minutes of practice, analysis, storytelling, and strategy.

one of our conference speakers: Crystal Wilkinson, a recent recipient of a Writing Freedom fellowship, is the award-winning author of Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts, a national-bestselling culinary memoir; Perfect Black, a collection of poems; and three works of fiction. Wilkinson served as Poet Laureate of Kentucky from 2021 to 2023, and currently teaches creative writing at the University of Kentucky where she is the Director of the Division of Creative Writing.

On October 9th, Crystal will bring her creative skills, dynamic leadership, and inventive energy for our opening discussion: Belonging is a Story We Write Together.
