We love it! 😍 And this love has been going on for 10 years!

On September 1, 2016, our library began its journey with the creation of the “Book Club Reboot” group.

What started as a simple idea — “What if I start collecting books and organize a library in Sharm?” — slowly turned into something much bigger.

At the beginning, the books lived in a big drawer. The first shelves were found at a dump, transformed, and eventually became home to a growing collection. Over the years, there were moves, new spaces, more and more books and, most importantly, the first readers who are still visiting us today!

Ten years later, the library has grown far beyond that original idea. It has become not only a place to borrow books, but also a space for events, meeting other readers, and discovering new hobbies.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of these 10 years and to everyone who is becoming part of our story today. To our readers, friends, supporters, and those who have ever taken a book from our shelves: this journey wouldn’t be the same without you 🫶

Happy 10th birthday to our library! 🎉 Let’s keep opening new chapters together! 📚❤️

Which book influenced Elon Musk’s philosophy?
And what does 42 mean? Let’s start with the second question 👇

42 is the «Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything». At least, that’s what the supercomputer answers in Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. There’s just one problem: nobody knows what the actual question was.

This idea particularly resonated with Elon Musk. He has said that he read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy as a teenager, when he was trying to make sense of the meaning of life. And the book helped him formulate an important idea: the goal is not to find the answers, but to learn how to ask the right questions.

Perhaps that’s the book’s greatest charm. Behind its absurd humour and science fiction, Douglas Adams hides some very serious questions about the meaning of life, human nature, and our place in the universe.

And it’s not just one book, but a “trilogy in five parts.” And yes, that’s not a typo. It’s another Douglas Adams joke: a trilogy that somehow has five parts.

Так, истории путешествуют гораздо дальше своих авторов. Они меняют язык, обложку, иногда даже название. Но продолжают влюблять в себя читателей.

This Wednesday, we’re inviting young learners to a fun and interactive workshop where children will discover how to tell the time through games, songs, hands-on activities and exciting challenges! ✨

Over two engaging hours, they’ll practice reading clocks, build confidence and, most importantly, enjoy the learning process in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Every new title on our shelves is another chance for someone to find their perfect story. That’s why we are constantly growing our collection and looking for books that are truly worth discovering.

Little by little, that’s how our library grows. Our shelves are filled with contemporary novels, classics, non-fiction, and children’s tales — everything you need to always find something to read in Sharm, whatever your mood or taste.

And if you have books at home that you’ve already finished and that are simply waiting on a shelf, bring them to us. We’ll be happy to add them to our collection so they can find new readers! 🥰
