📖 How to Pray the Funeral Prayer (Ṣalāt al-Janāzah)
⸻
Many Muslims are unsure of what to recite during the funeral prayer.
Here’s a clear and simple guide — share it to benefit others. 🌿
⸻
🕋 1️⃣ First Takbīrah (التكبيرة الأولى)
🔹 Recite Sūrat al-Fātiḥah:
{ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ }
➡ Then say: “Ṣadaqa Allāhu al-ʿAẓīm.”
⸻
2️⃣ Second Takbīrah (التكبيرة الثانية)
🔹 Recite the Abrahamic Salutation (Aṣ-Ṣalāt al-Ibrāhīmiyyah):
➡ Translation:
“O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad,
as You sent prayers upon Ibrāhīm and his family.
Bless Muhammad and his family as You blessed Ibrāhīm and his family —
You are indeed Praiseworthy and Glorious.”
⸻
🤲 3️⃣ Third Takbīrah (التكبيرة الثالثة)
🔹 Make du‘ā for the deceased with the prophetic supplication:
➡ Translation:
“O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him,
and purify him from sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt.
Replace his home with a better home, his family with a better family,
and his spouse with a better spouse.
Admit him to Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the Fire.”
⸻
🌸 4️⃣ Fourth Takbīrah (التكبيرة الرابعة)
➡ Translation:
“O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward, do not test us after him,
and forgive us and him, and all the Muslims.”
Then make a short du‘ā for all Muslims and conclude with two salāms —
one to the right and one to the left.
⸻
💬 Important Reminder
Do you know why you should share this message?
Because many people wish to learn this prayer — but don’t know where to start,
or feel shy to ask.
So share it — and earn a continuous reward, in shā’ Allāh. 🌙

✨ Hadith of the Day – Harbanz Islamic Center
🌍 Translation (English):
Jābir (RA) reported: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say three days before his death:
“None of you should die except while assuming the best about Allah.”
(Reported by Muslim)
⸻
🌱 Lessons & Reflections:
1. A believer must meet Allah ﷻ with hope, not despair.
2. Having good thoughts about Allah strengthens the heart at life’s final moment.
3. Husn al-ẓann (good expectation of Allah) means trusting in His mercy, forgiveness, and wisdom.
4. Despairing of Allah’s mercy is a grave sin that weakens faith.
5. The more we lived remembering Allah, the easier it is to die with certainty and peace.
💡 Word of Wisdom:
“Good expectation of Allah is not wishful thinking—it is living righteously and then trusting His mercy.”
