The headstamps on these two cartridges made in the same country only months apart show a noted political change. The left one, made in January (I) of 1938, has the Austrian double headed eagle on it. On November 11th 1918 Germany agreed to the armistice, effectively ending WWI. The rifles could be lowered but they would need cleaning. This is an individual cleaning kit for the US Model 1917 rifle.
