Our Grade 4 students embarked on an exciting real-world math adventure during their visit to Spinneys supermarket! 🛒📊
As part of their engaging math project, each group explored a different section of the supermarket. One group investigated dry goods, another focused on protein products, while others explored dairy items and various additional categories throughout the store. Students carefully observed, counted, and collected data on different product types such as pasta, rice, cheese, and more.
Using their note-taking sheets, students recorded their findings and will later transform this data into line plots and mathematical analyses to answer questions based on their research.
This hands-on learning experience beautifully connected mathematics to everyday life, while also strengthening students’ teamwork, observation, critical thinking, and data analysis skills in a fun and interactive environment!

Our students spent the session outdoors in the garden taking part in a literary questions activity. The relaxed setting encouraged participation, teamwork, and plenty of thoughtful discussion — along with lots of smiles and laughter. It was wonderful to see everyone learning while truly enjoying the experience. ☀️✨
