من هو د.عادل سدرا؟!
ولد في مصر عام 1943م، حصل على بكالوريس الهندسة من جامعة القاهرة سنة 1964م، ثم حصل على الماجستير والدكتوراه في جامعة تورنتو في سنتى 1968 ,1969 م على الترتيب وكانت الثلاث شهادات في مجال الهندسة الكهربية.
التحق سدرا بالكلية الخاصة بجامعة تورنتو سنة 1969 م، وأصبح استاذا مساعدا في سنة 1972 واستاذا سنة 1978 , وقد تولى منصب رئيس قسم الهندسة الكهربية من سنة م1986 إلى سنة 1993م، وكان نائب رئيس الجامعة ورئيس المكتب الاكاديمى من 1 يوليو 1993 إلى 2002، وأثناء 9 سنوات كعميد قاد سدرا الجامعة خلال خطتين طويلتين الاجل خلال الفترة من 1994 إلى 1998م
وفى الأول من يوليو 2003 م التحق سدرا بجامعة واترلو (waterloo) كعميد لكلية الهندسة واستاذا في الهندسة الكهربية وهندسة الحاسبات وفى سنة 2004 بدأ التخطيط لمشروع رؤية 2010 (vision 2010) الخاصة بجامعة واترلوو
كمتخصص في مجال الميكروإلكترونيكس، ركزت ابحاث سدرا على التطبيقات في مجال الاتصالات والأنظمة الادواتية (instrumental system)، متضمنا نظريات وتصميمات الدوائر الكهربية. وقد ساعد سدرا في كتابة ثلاثة كتب منها (micro electronics cct) مع(K.C.smith)، والتي وصل إلى السخة السادسة منها إلى سنة 2010 م تنشر بأكثر من عشر لغات وطبع منها أكثر من مليون نسخة وتعتبر أحد المراجع الأوسع انتشارا في هذا المجال إلى وقتننا هذا
نشر سدرا أكثر من 150 ورقة بحث ذات قيمة أكاديمية كبيرة ارشدت حوالى 65 بحث لطلاب الدراسات العليا وساهمت أيضا كاستشارة للصناعة لحكومتى كندا والولايات المتحدة..
